Mickelson Tops Lefties, Highlights PGA Props

There is a wealth of golf odds available for the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla this week.

Headlining the charge is Phil Mickelson to lead the left-handed golfers, which pays handsomely.

There is good money to be made with PGA Championship props, so we look at the best available.

Mickelson’s Lefty Showdown: Betting on Phil to Reclaim PGA Glory?

Mickelson might be playing terrible golf on the LIV Tour, but always measures up in the majors, especially the PGA Championship.

We tipped him to win the 2021 PGA Championship odds at +15,000, so we feel loyal to the American.

He’s +450 to beat the three other left-handed players in the tournament, including Brian Harman, Akshay Bhatia and Robert MacIntyre.

We have seen a harder group of players to beat, and although Harman is a major winner, he’s not playing superb golf at the moment.

He has been hot on the mic this week, saying players didn’t have much freedom on the PGA Tour when he was there.

“We didn’t have an opportunity for elevated events [in the PGA],” Mickelson revealed. “We didn’t have an opportunity for equity. We didn’t have an opportunity to do our own social media. That was all controlled and shot down.”

It’s going to be a tense week, but we love the odds for Mickelson to show them a thing or two.

Return of the Mac: Fleetwood’s Time to Shine

Backing Tommy Fleetwood on a consistent basis can be frustrating, but it’s only a matter of time before he wins.

The British golfer might not win the 2024 PGA Championship, but he’s worth backing for top British golfer at +400.

The inflated odds are because Rory McIlroy is a +105 chance to see off the likes of Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick and Tyrrell Hatton, and we think he’s an excellent chance.

Fleetwood needs to prove himself on the PGA Tour, and what better way than with a good finish at Valhalla?

Some of his best results have come at majors, and there is an air of confidence around his chances.

Take the +400 odds as we don’t see McIlroy playing top-level golf, especially after announcing his divorce from former wife Erica Stoll a day after winning the Wells Fargo Championship.

Rising Star Aberg Injured? +300 Odds He Misses PGA Championship Cut

Ludvig Aberg is one of the brightest stars on the PGA Tour, and he showed his class at The Masters in April.

However, the Swedish youngster has missed the last few weeks because of injury, and he might be rushing back because it’s a major.

We don’t think he would tee it up at Valhalla if it wasn’t a major. He showed that by missing the Wells Fargo Championship last week, which was a limited field with no cut.

It would have been a great time to pick up big prize money, but having a knee injury is serious in the golfing world.

“I was very excited to tee it up at Quail Hollow for the first time,” Åberg said. “Unfortunately, I’m dealing with a knee issue and after consulting with my doctors, we think it’s best that I take some additional time to rest.”

It doesn’t sound extremely serious, but we’re backing him to miss the cut. He could be rusty, and his lack of experience at Valhalla could also play a part.

Bettors get +300 for Aberg to rest his knee on the weekend, and that’s one of our best 2024 PGA Championship props.

Gooch +320 to Shock the PGA Championship With Top-20 Result

Talor Gooch is one of the more polarizing players in the world, but he won’t get a better chance to silence his critics.

The LIV player left the PGA Tour with only one win under his belt, but believes he deserves a spot in the field.

He was eventually gifted a spot, but many believed the prolific LIV Tour winner was undeserving. The jury is out on that, as it’s arguably harder to beat the LIV fields than some PGA Tour fields.

However, it’s a big week for the American, who won’t have many friends in the crowd. He is a +320 chance to finish in the top 20, which is great shopping.

He’s still one of the better ball strikers in the world, and despite his unlikeable attitude, we’re about finding the best value.

Back Gooch at +320 to record a top 20 finish at the PGA Championship.
