Scottie Scheffler: Overcoming Drama to Rule the U.S. Open?

Scottie Scheffler: Overcoming Drama to Rule the U.S. Open?

Pardon the prison joke, but we’re locking in Scottie Scheffler with golf futures odds.

The American world number one got into trouble with the law at the PGA Championship, which could have affected his performance.

He has yet to win post-April, but that streak could end at Pinehurst in June. Check the latest U.S. Open odds here!

Despite Off-Course Drama, Scottie Scheffler Our US Open Pick

We are sick of talking about how Scheffler hasn’t won in nine of the 12 calendar months, so we’re making Scheffler our top pick to win the 2024 U.S. Open.

He’s the +350 favorite to win his second major of the year having taken out The Masters at Augusta National in April.

It hasn’t been an easy month for Scheffler, who not only welcomed his first child into the world but also got arrested outside Valhalla.

That can’t be good for his mental game, but he bounced back on the final day at the PGA Championship to climb up the leaderboard.

He also didn’t have his usual caddie for Round 3 when shooting 73, but that shouldn’t be used as an excuse. He didn’t play well enough to win, so he needs to play better at the U.S. Open.

Bettors won’t get much higher than +350, which could shorten closer to tee-off time.

Bryson DeChambeau Great Value Bet at US Open

Bryson DeChambeau showed his class when finishing second behind Xander Schauffele at the PGA Championship.

He played well in the final round to shoot -7, and although he didn’t win his second major championship, he showed that LIV golf is strong.

The big hitter is built for U.S. Open success, and he only needs to start a little better to put himself in contention.

He recently talked about the balance between golf and entertainment, which is lost on PGA Tour players.

“I’ve worked really hard to have people help hopefully understand who I am a little bit better,” DeChambeau said. “YouTube has been a great platform to help that out. Being able to entertain the fans is what we’re all here to do.

“I think that’s what’s the most important thing.”

Getting +2200 for DeChambeau to win the U.S. Open is crazy. He’s one of the best players in the world, and his current tour status shouldn’t reflect his odds.

Will Xander Schauffele Stop at One?

It took a long time for Xander Schauffele to win a major, but the 2024 PGA Championship winner might not stop at one.

The American, who won the Olympic gold in Tokyo, knows how to win big tournaments, and the shackles might have been released.

He is listed at +1200 odds to win, so there hasn’t been a massive overreaction with golf betting markets. We thought he would be around +1000 to win at Pinehurst, which is a course that should suit him.

Winning consecutive majors isn’t easy, but we’re putting him in our selections.

Viktor Hovland Back to His Best

It was great to see Viktor Hovland back to his best after posting a top-five finish at the PGA.

The Norwegian had struggled with his swing changes since winning the FedEx Cup, and although we don’t know why he changed his swing, it might not matter now.

He’s still a young golfer, and it’s tough to expect consistent play from him. However, after playing well at Valhalla, expectations are back up.

He hasn’t been missed in betting markets. Hovland has firmed into +1600, so he’s worth backing in U.S. Open odds.
