St Jude Championships Kicks Off FedEx Cup Playoffs
McIlroy Favored in PGA Stop at TPC Southwind
The FedEx Cup playoffs kick off this week with the St Jude Championship, where all the best players in the world embark at TPC Southwind.
Headlining golf betting odds is Rory McIlroy, who is currently trading at +1000. The Northern Irishman has stiff competition in the form of Scottie Scheffler, who leads the competition.

After a few weeks of average PGA Tour fields, we can’t wait for the action to tee off.
Let’s check the latest golf news, stats, injury reports, and golf odds for FedEx St Jude Championship. We’ve plenty of golf picks and predictions for you to consider.
Take action and check on amazing St Jude Championships Odds!
Scheffler to Extend Lead
We think Scheffler is a great bet in the St Jude Championship and the American could extend his FedEx Cup lead.
The 26-year-old from New Jersey hasn’t played since The Open Championship, where he finished T21. Prior to that, he missed the cut at the Scottish Open. However, he needed some time off and he should come back strong.
Scheffler not only leads the FedEx Cup, but he’s the best player in the world and is knocking on the door of another win. His effort for second at the U.S. Open was outstanding and he would love to put some space on the field.
He also just won a $4 million bonus, which is a nice boost as the playoffs approach.
“I’m proud of securing the top spot in the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 as it represents great competition over the course of a season against the best players in the world,” Scheffler told PGA Tour. “This is a great reminder of all the hard work I’ve put in over the years with the support of my family and team.”
The sportsbook has Scheffler at +1400 and those odds are worth taking. He should be favorite to win, so we’re happy with the price.
Pick: Scottie Scheffler +1400
Smith Stays Put
There were strong rumors of Cameron Smith heading to the LIV Tour following his Open Championship win. Those rumors have been put on the back burner, at least for the meantime.
The Australian hasn’t played since winning his first major. He’s another young star with every chance of winning the St Jude Championship and making his mark early in the FedEx Cup playoff race.
Winning a major and the Players Championship in one year is outstanding. His confidence levels are through the roof and there is excellent value with the +1600 betting online odds.
Smith should play well at TPC Southwind and we expect him to be near the top of the leaderboard throughout.
Pick: Cameron Smith +1700
Value for Rahm
Since when is Jon Rahm a +2000 chance to win a golf tournament? The Spaniard hasn’t been playing his best golf in 2022, but he can’t be left out.
He won the Mexico Open against an easy field in May and he followed it up with a T10 finish at The Memorial and a T12 result at the U.S. Open, so we don’t think he deserves to be at such high odds.
We don’t think there are six players better than Rahm in the field, most notably Patrick Cantlay at +1800. We rate Rahm much higher, so bettors get an excellent value with golf odds and we’re snapping them up.
Pick: Jon Rahm +2000
Young Nearing Win
One of the most consistent golfers on the PGA Tour has been Cameron Young, who has come out of nowhere to perform at a high level.
The American finished second at The Open Championship before finishing T2 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He also owns top-five finishes in the PGA Championship, Wells Fargo Championship and RBC Heritage.
His run has been incredible, but he needs to his consistency to pay off with a win. Young, and the likes of Will Zalatoris, are getting close to winning but it becomes harder the longer it takes.
We’re keeping the faith and predicting another strong effort from the +3000 chance.
Pick: Cameron Young +3000
