It’s hard to look past Scheffler making a good start. He hasn’t been at his best in 2025, but he’s a two-time defending champion at The Players and he’ll likely make a positive start in Round 1.

The world No. 1 tops golf betting markets at +1600 to lead on Thursday, and although it’s not the easiest bet to cash, there are much worse golfers to bet on.

He needs to improve to win The Players at +475 odds, but he should get off to a fast start at Sawgrass, which is a course he knows best. Therefore, he’s included in our Players Championship props.
