1. Scottie Scheffler (+300)

Even when Scheffler doesn’t play well, he still goes close to winning the U.S. Open. He missed a few short putts, as every player did, but it cost him momentum. However, despite struggling, he was right there on Sunday.

The American headlines golf betting markets for the Travelers Championship, which was expected. He’s still the best golfer in the world and he doesn’t need to improve too much to beat this field.

He is a much better golfer on shorter courses, where missing the fairway isn’t punished as much as it did at Oakmont for the U.S. Open. Scheffler should take advantage, and the +300 odds are worth including in golf expert picks.

2. Xander Schauffele (+1600)

Xander Schauffele was one of my top picks to win the U.S. Open, and although he was no match for J.J. Spaun, it was a good showing from the two-time major champion.

He has taken a bit of time to recover from an injury, but after posting a T12 finish at Oakmont, his confidence levels should be through the roof. He shot -1 on Sunday, when most of the best players shot over par, including Spaun (+2), Viktor Hovland (+3) and Adam Scott (+9).

The 31-year-old is back to his best, and getting +1600 is a good price from our sportsbook. Golf lines have Schauffele on the third line of betting, so take the value.

3. Viktor Hovland (+3000)

I had Hovland missing the cut last week, but the Norwegian proved me wrong with an excellent performance. He missed a lot of fairways in the final round, which he’s known to do, but that won’t make much of an impact at the Travelers Championship.

The rough plays much fairer, so Hovland should fancy his chances of posting a good finish. He made golf news last week with a return to form, and it wasn’t too long ago when he won the FedEx Cup.

Class is on his side, so he goes into my golf picks at the odds.

4. Cameron Young (+4440)

I have backed Cameron Young too many times to remember, but he almost pulled my pants down at Oakmont when I left him out of my picks.

He made a good late charge to put some pressure on the leaders, and although he’s still winless on the PGA Tour, that result should give him enough confidence to finally break through soon.

I’m still not convinced that he has the best attitude to win tournaments, but the talent is there. The price is also there, so take the +4400 golf odds as a value bet.
