U.S. Open Futures Picks: Hard to Bet Against Scottie Scheffler (+255)
U.S. Open golf odds expect Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau to play well at Oakmont next week.
The course is playing about as tough as possible, so it will be a grind for the world’s best players in the third golf major of 2025.
Top 4 U. S. Open Futures Picks
1. Scottie Scheffler (+255)
The US Open betting odds for Scheffler are shorter than expected, but he’s back in winning form after taking out The Memorial this past weekend.
There is much more depth to the U.S. Open field with the likes of McIlroy, DeChambeau and Jon Rahm, which is why I thought Scheffler’s odds would be around +400. However, there is no denying his ability and he’s the man to beat.
Even when the American doesn’t play well, he’s still near the top of the leaderboard. That makes for a good golfer, and with the rough being so thick at Oakmont, Scheffler’s accuracy trumps most of his competitors.
The odds don’t offer fantastic value, but he’s worth including in U.S. Open bets.
2. Bryson DeChambeau (+900)
One player not worried by the length of Oakmont is DeChambeau, who would be the longest-hitting player on the PGA Tour.
The LIV golfer should be included in golf picks on ability alone, and if he played better on Sunday at the Masters and the PGA Championship, he could have won two majors in 2025.
He’s arguably the third-best golfer in the world behind Scheffler and McIlroy, and to be still rated as one of the best despite not earning world ranking points at LIV is a testament to his performances in the majors.
Getting +900 is a fair price with U.S. Open golf odds.
3. Jordan Spieth (+4500)
It has been a long road for Jordan Spieth backers, but the former elite player still has enough game to be near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday.
He’s not playing with the same level of confidence that saw him win seven tournaments in 2015-2016. However, he’s looking to win his first tournament since 2022 and he’s a threat at the 2025 U.S. Open.
Spieth’s recent form has been solid enough and it only takes a good opening round to see him figure in the finish. My U.S. Open picks can’t leave him out at the futures odds of +4500, which is a generous price.
4. Sepp Straka (+5000)
I’m not sure why Sepp Straka is paying +5000. He’s one of the in-form golfers in the world, and he posted another top-three finish at The Memorial.
I priced him at around +2200 to win, so getting +5000 is an insult to his talent. His performances this year have been nothing short of impressive and he’s good enough to cope with the pressure on Sunday.
The big Austrian can’t be overlooked, so I’m including him in my golf betting picks. His line could firm, so take the futures’ odds.
