Value Aplenty With Valero Texas Open Odds

Hatton Tops Market

Golf lines present bettors with a wide-open betting market for the Valero Texas Open, which is headed by Tyrrell Hatton.

There is value throughout the market for the next PGA Tour tournament, which features the likes of Rickie Fowler, Corey Connors, and Hideki Matsuyama.

It’s the only tournament left to qualify for The Masters, so there is everything to play for.

1. Don’t Fall Foul of Fowler

Fowler is getting close to finding his best form, so we’re happy to back him, given the quality of the Valero Texas Open field.

None of the PGA Tour superstars are in the field, and we thought online gambling markets would have had Fowler at the top of the market.

Having not won since 2019 is against him, but the 34-year-old is proving his form is back to near best. He played well at the WGC Match Play last week, beating Jon Rahm in the first round.

That followed some positive results, including a T11 at the Farmers Insurance Open, T10 at the WM Phoenix Open, and a T13 at The Players.

He needs to play well to visit Augusta next week, so the incentive is there. He also went close at the ZOZO Championship last year, but those types of performances help in the long run, as he told golf news.

“Obviously wanted to get the job done and I felt very good going into today. Felt, you know, probably as good as you can feel out there,” Fowler said.

“Final round, haven’t been there a whole lot in the last couple years, really just didn’t give myself many opportunities until the end.

“Definitely excited about having a couple good finishes to start the season and a lot of good stuff coming.”

  • Pick: Rickie Fowler (+1600)

2. Matsuyama Under the Radar

Golf odds this week have Hideki Matsuyama at +2200, which is a value price for a former Masters champion.

The Japanese star hasn’t been electric recently, but we liked what we saw at The Players. He finished fifth, despite shooting 74 in the opening round, so his weekend effort going 67, 68, is encouraging.

He’s going under the radar for the Valero Texas Open, which he pulled out of after the first round last year. There is a sense of redemption on the mind of Matsuyama, who wants to get back to his best before heading to Augusta.

There is always a risk, but the big odds make him a worthwhile wager.

  • Pick: Hideki Matsuyama (+2200)

3. Kuchar in the Mix

It has been some time since Matt Kuchar won on the PGA Tour, but the 44-year-old has been around the mark lately.

We couldn’t leave him out of our golf picks at +2800.

We have been impressed by his recent results, including an eighth placing at The Genesis. He also played well at the WGC Match Play last week, so he’s knocking on the door of getting back to winning form.

The American started 2023 with a T7 at the Sony Open in Hawaii. There is nothing wrong with that form, and the odds are juicy.

  • Pick: Matt Kuchar (+2800)

4. Putnam to Lead First Round

The sportsbook has odds for the first-round leader, and we fancy Andrew Putnam to come out swinging.

Putnam is one of the better putters on the PGA Tour, and he played well last week, so he should be full of confidence heading into the Valero Texas Open.

Bettors get massive odds for the American to lead after the first round, so we can’t leave him out.

He’s paying +5500 to lead after Thursday, so include him in your golf selections.

  • Pick: Andrew Putnam (+5500)
