Signing world No. 2 Cameron Smith was massive for the rebel league and joining him are the likes of Joaquin Niemann, Harold Varner III and Cameron Tringale, so there’s a fair amount of talent.

Despite being the +550 favorite, there is an exceptional value in betting on Cameron Smith.
Not only he is one of the best players in the world, but he’s facing a field that’s ripe for the picking. He comes off a tidy finish at the Tour Championship, and with wins at the major level this year, he’s the one they have to beat.
PGA Tour’s Billy Horschel was sad to see his friend pack up and leave for the LIV Tour.
“If he happens to go, he would be the biggest loss in my mind because you look at his age and what he’s accomplished,” Horschel told ESPN. “Look at the person he is. He’s a great kid and represents himself very well, and he does it the right way. If he happens to go, it would be the biggest loss because I’m biased. He’s one of my best friends.”
Smith is a huge loss for the PGA Tour but a massive gain for the LIV Golf League. He is a young talent with proven success, including a win at the 2022 Open Championship and 2022 Players Championship.
He’s a decorated star and the sportsbook hasn’t overlooked his chances of having an immediate impact.

Time for Gooch to Shine
There was plenty of hype for Talor Gooch when he left the PGA Tour, but he hasn’t lived up to expectations.
He’s also going through the motions of understanding his decision might have permanent ramifications.
“I knew there could be some repercussions from my decision to play [in LIV],” Gooch said. “Based on the history of what the PGA Tour has done, I didn’t think it would be as extreme as it was. I knew anytime you make a decision like that, there can be consequences. I planned on coming back. I wasn’t all-in with LIV. I wasn’t signed to play any more tournaments.
“None of this was on the cards. None of this was expected. It’s been tumultuous. A bunch of highs, a bunch of lows, and everything in between.”
It’s an unfortunate situation, but winning in Boston could alleviate his troubles. The winning purse is significant and golf betting markets have Gooch at +1600 to win, which is a fair price for the American.
There is enough value in his odds to back him with confidence.

Johnson Eyeing First Win
Dustin Johnson has yet to win a LIV event but betting online markets suggest he’s due at The International Golf Club in Bolton, Mass..
The two-time major winner was the highest-ranked player on the LIV Tour before Smith came along and he’ll look to show who’s boss.
The +600 odds are generous for someone with Johnson’s talent and we expect him to start knuckling down and start winning tournaments.
It has been too long since he won the 2020 Masters, and given the quality of the field, he should be right around the top of the leaderboard.
It’s a matter of time before Johnson wins and LIV Boston should be right up his alley.
