Scottie Scheffler Roars To Victory in The Masters
World's No. 1 Plays Stunning Golf To Earn First Green Jacket
What goes with blue pants and a blue shirt? A green jacket.
Scottie Scheffler picked a great outfit Sunday and played tremendous golf over four rounds to earn his first Masters title.
The University of Texas finance grad was brilliant in the final round through 17 holes, eliminating any and all mystery by shooting a 71 to finish at 278.
Emotions and nerves took hold on the 72nd hole as he missed a couple of putts and wound up with a double-bogey but he had plenty of cushion when he dropped his final putt of the tournament.
This was Scheffler’s third Masters appearance and fourth career tour win, all in 2022. Check our lines!

He was 3 shots clear of Rory McIlroy, who fashioned a 64, including holing out a bunker shot on 18 to complete the marvelous 8-under par final round.

Incredibly, McIlroy’s playing partner Collin Morikawa finished his tournament by sinking a bunker shot, too.

That shot brought McIlroy within three shots as Scheffler had the second half of the back nine to play but the World’s No. 1 golfer went birdie-birdie on 14 and 15 to open his advantage to five shots with three holes left.
Done deal.

Scheffler won his first tournament this year and it took him 42 days to climb to No. 1 in the world. The victory at Augusta National will further cement that spot.
Scheffler is currently +1200 at BetUS Golf Futures for the U.S. Open in June. His odds dropped through the weekend, starting at +2500, going to 16-1, 14-1 and then now at 12-1.
McIlroy. meanwhile, had a stunning round, going 32-32 for his 64. He had six birdies and an eagle in his final round to finish at 281.
He was thrilled with his performance.

In case you were wondering, Tiger Woods finished with his second straight 78 to end his 72 holes at 301, in 47th place.
The finish wasn’t as important as the fact the five-time Masters champion got through the entire tournament, his first since an automobile accident nearly cost him his right leg in February 2021.
Woods did make some news by saying he will play the British Open at St. Andrews in July.
