Cody’s Wish Amazes in Winning Met Mile
America's Horse Goes Last to First in Stunning Performance
Horse racing has no one to blame for its problems but itself. Cody’s Wish has been the one bright spot in a dark time for the sport of kings.
That brilliance appeared to be in trouble in Saturday’s Met Mile on the undercard at Belmont Park.
Cody’s Wish broke last as the 3-5 favorite was near the back of the talent pack as the field hit the turn.
Junior Alvarado guided Cody’s Wish to the outside, and the horse with an incomparable connection to teen Cody Dorman, started to roll.
And roll he did, by everyone. At the finish of the $1,000,000 stake, Cody’s Wish was by himself at the finish line, having dusted his foes by open lengths.
Enjoy:
The beautiful and emotional racing story continues!! 💙
Cody’s Wish makes a big move on the outside to take the $1 million G1 Met Mile for trainer Bill Mott, owner @godolphin, jockey @JuniorandKellyA and of course, Cody Dorman!!! 🏆

“Cody’s Wish” is named for Cody Dorman, a young fan who was born with Wolf–Hirschhorn syndrome.
