The Kentucky Oaks, the filly version of the Kentucky Derby, will be contested Friday at Churchill Downs in Louisville. The race is usually held in May. However, this year the coronavirus pandemic changed everything, including for horse racing.
There are nine 3-year-old fillies entered for the stake, which will carry a purse of $1.25 million. The distance for the Kentucky Oaks is 1 1/8 miles.
