According to DRF:
“Though it was reported Sunday that Two Phil’s was being shipped from Rivelli’s stable at Hawthorne Race Course outside Chicago to the Rood and Riddle Equine Clinic in Lexington, Kentucky, where Bramlage practices, Two Phil’s never left (trainer Larry) Rivelli’s barn. Rivelli said radiographs of the colt’s injured ankle were sent to Bramlage for analysis. A fractured sesamoid was diagnosed and Bramlage deemed the prognosis for Two Phil’s fully recovering his racing capacity “poor to fair,” according to Rivelli.”
“He ran on every surface. Just a sweetheart of a horse, Rivelli told Horse Racing Nation. “We’ve done this enough, and giving him six months off and bringing him back, the owners were just like, it was a good career,
”It was just shorter than we would have wanted, that’s all. The horse is going to be OK, that’s our main interest.”
Two Phil’s finished second in the Kentucky Derby and won the Ohio Derby on Saturday. He finishes his career 10: 5-2-1 and earnings of $1,583,450.
