BetUS horse racing writers Daryl Curnow and Donald Norton have been given mythical bankrolls for the Breeders’ Cup – $50 for Friday’s races and $100 for Saturday’s card. Let’s see what they came up with after carefully reviewing the horse racing odds and the past performances. If you like any or all of their picks, fire away in the racebook when betting online.
Let’s check the latest Horse Racing odds, stats, injury reports, and Horse Racing lines. We’ve plenty of Horse Racing betting odds for you to consider.
Friday’s Races
Daryl Curnow
JUVENILE
My top pick for Friday is Cave Rock in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. The Bob Baffert-trained colt is a short favorite but he’s worth running through horse racing parlays. His three wins to date have been better than average and Baffert loves a quality juvenile. We’re happy with the odds available and we’re anchoring him in this race.
Include Forte for the exacta, which should boost payouts.

- $5 exacta: 3-4
JUVENILE TURF
Bettors get an excellent value with Silver Knott in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, and the Charlie Appleby-trained colt is our clear top pick. He won the Autumn Stakes at Newmarket last month and that’s an exceptional form for the Juvenile Turf. He’s paying handsome each-way odds, so he’s worth a play.

- $20 win: 4

JUVENILE SPRINT
Let’s get the party started with an exacta box and a swing for the fences in the Pick 5. There is an outrageous amount of speed in the Juvenile Sprint, so we’ll start the sequence by playing a couple of closers in Private Creed and Mischief Magic. The Juvenile Fillies should be controlled up front by Wonder Wheel, You’re My Girl, and longshot Vegas Magic. A competitive Juvenile Fillies Turf features Delight, Meditate, and Xigera. We’ll go with Forte to spring the upset in the Juvenile, with Victoria Road and Silver Knott completing the Pick 5 ticket in the Juvenile Turf.

- $2 exacta box: 3-5
- .50 Pick 5: 3,5 with 1,2,5 with 9,10,13 with 4 with 1,4
JUVENILE FILLIES
Vegas Magic threw in a clunker in the Del Mar Debutante but is worth a shot to resume her previous progression and pull the upset with Jose Ortiz mapping out a trip from the rail.
-
- $5 win: 1
JUVENILE
Forte can surprise Cave Rock with Blazing Sevens completing a juicy exacta. Victoria Road and Silver Knott are attractive choices in the Juvenile Turf to complete the daily double.

- $10 win: 4
- $5 exacta: 4-6
- $2 trifecta: 4-6-3
- $3 daily doubles: 4 with 1,4

Saturday’s Races
Daryl Curnow
TURF
The Blue Army is back at Keeneland and we love Godolphin’s chances of winning and finishing second in the Breeders’ Cup Turf. They line up favorites Rebel’s Romance and Nations Pride, who are 3-1 and 4-1, respectively. The Europeans are superior on the turf, and because of the big pools, bettors get an excellent exacta price.
-
- $10 exacta box: 5-7
DISTAFF
We have loved the progression of Nest, who has won her last three starts, including victories in the Grade I Alabama and Coaching Club American Oaks. She has taken over Secret Oath and Malathaat as the best female thoroughbred in America and we’re happy to be on her back. The 9-5 price is better than we expected and we’re anchoring her to win.
-
- $20 win: 6
SPRINT
The superior sprinter lining up at the Breeders’ Cup is Jackie’s Warrior and we see no reason to not have him in selections. He is the 4-5 favorite, so bettors can’t get rich, but we’re including him in a parlay with Cave Rock and Flightline. Connections are keen for him to perform better than his sixth last year, but he has matured nicely since and he will be hard to hold out.
-
- $30 3-Leg Parlay: Cave Rock, Jackie’s Warrior, Flightline
CLASSIC
We don’t want to spend too much time talking about Flightline because he speaks for himself. He’s the best thoroughbred in America and one of the best in the world, so the 3-5 horse racing odds shouldn’t surprise anyone. However, how do we find value with those odds? The standout for second is Epicenter, who comes off a terrific age-group season. He could rise to another level by taking on the older horses and he’s our exacta inclusion in the feature.
-
- $25 exacta: 4-6
FILLY & MARE TURF
We’re picking Toy in the Filly & Mare Turf on Saturday. The Aidan O’Brien-trained filly ran second in the Irish Oaks behind Magical Lagoon two starts back before winning the Garnet Stakes in preparation for this race. The daughter of Galileo looks ideally suited to Keeneland and bettors should get each-way odds on race day.
-
- $10 win: 7
- $5 place: 7

TURF SPRINT
Golden Pal tries to make history by winning his third Breeders’ Cup race, but early pressure could take its toll. Creative Force drew the rail, and can pass the pacesetters late – provided jockey William Buick finds a seam. Buick won three BC races last year.
-
- $5 win: 1
- $3 exactas: 1 with 6,8
- $5 double: 1-6
DIRT MILE
Laurel River is the latest Bob Baffert speedball and is the choice to start a Pick 3 that wraps up with Jackie’s Warrior in the Sprint. In between are the 2-3-4 finishers in the Prix de l’Opera in Nashwa, Above the Curve and Tuesday.
-
- $4 Pick 3s: 6 with 3,4,5 with 9
FILLY AND MARE TURF
Nashwa, Above the Curve, and Tuesday, are must-plays to start the Pick 6 ticket. Jackie’s Warrior and Flightline can be used as singles. The choices are tougher in the other three races. Modern Games and Annapolis lead the way in the Mile. The Distaff is a showdown between Malathaat, Clairiere, Nest, and the late-blooming Society, among others, while Rebel’s Romance and the mare War Like Goddess are attractive in the Turf.
-
- $1 Pick 6: 3,4,5 with 9 with 4,11 with 1,4,6,8 with 2,5 with 4
CLASSIC
Flightline is impossible to go against but will be tough to take at 1-2 or so. Exactas and trifectas with longshot closers could be the way to go. Happy Saver and Rich Strike fit the bill.

- $10 exactas: 4 with 3,8
