Jackie’s Warrior Bids Racing Adieu in Breeders’ Cup Sprint
Four-Year-Old Takes Third Crack at BC title in Final Race
There is no pair of Jacks to play in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint on Saturday. Jackie’s Warrior makes his final start as a heavier morning-line favorite in the horse racing odds after Jack Christopher was not entered, leaving the race without one of the sport’s brightest stars. Aloha West, the likely fifth choice when betting online, returns to defend his title as he tries to join Roy H (2017-18) as the only back-to-back winners of the Sprint.
Let’s check the latest Horse Racing odds, stats, injury reports, and Horse Racing lines for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. We’ve plenty of Horse Racing betting odds for you to consider.

Jackie’s Warrior Swan Song Could be a Procession
Jackie’s Warrior, 12 for 17 lifetime, steps to the plate with two strikes in the Breeders’ Cup. He was fourth in the 2020 Juvenile at 4-5 after winning his first four races, and sixth in the 2021 Sprint — by 6¼ lengths to Aloha West. Early splits of 21.4 and 44 doomed the front-running Jackie’s Warrior last year.
He rebounded by winning his next four races, including two Grade Is. Jackie’s Warrior comes off a loss to Cody’s Wish, the 5-2 favorite in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, in the seven-furoing Forego at Saratoga in August. Jackie’s Warrior is 10-for-13 at six furlongs.
Jack Christopher, 5 for 6 with three Grade 1 victories, was recently deemed sound by trainer Chad Brown. The decision-makers, though, were concerned that the 3-year-old Munnings colt would be scratched by veterinarians leading up to the race, so the other Jack won’t participate.
Jose Ortiz rode Aloha West to victory in the 2021 Sprint at 11-1 in the racebook. Ortiz, though, decided to ride Kimari in this year’s edition. The 5-year-old mare, trained by Wesley Ward, is 9 for 16 lifetime after winning his last two races. Ortiz replaces Joel Rosario, who rode Kimari in seven of his last eight races. Rosario is the only jockey to ride Jackie’s Warrior.
How The Breeders’ Cup Sprint Could Unfold
Jackie’s Warrior should be on the lead with Willy Boi and Flash of Mischief also sending from the outside posts. Those three should be in good shape entering the far turn with Kimari settled at the rail. The pace shouldn’t be too hot, so it should come down to these four. Jackie’s Warrior won’t be denied, with the other two speeds potentially staying ahead of Kimari.

The Play
Jackie’s Warrior would be flattered if Cody’s Wish enters the winner’s circle two races earlier, but that’s not necessary to back the Steve Asmsusen-trained 4-year-old. Jackie’s Warrior could also serve as a single in all horizontal wagers (daily double, Pick 3, etc.) Willy Boi and Flash of Mischief could keep going over the speed-favoring oval, rounding out better-priced verticals.
