Praise for Tarifa in Kentucky Oaks Betting

It’s a wide open 2024 Kentucky Oaks, where Godolphin’s Tarifa is the betting favorite.

She’s a +375 favorite in the Kentucky Oaks odds to win Friday’s feature, but she needs to hold off the likes of Just F Y I, Leslie’s Rose, and Thorpedo Anna.

Without a standout favorite, bettors get excellent value for the Grade I affair.

Tarifa Eyes Kentucky Oaks Glory at +375 Odds

Tarifa, a Brad Cox-trained filly by Bernardini, has yet to face Grade I opposition, but it’s hard to overlook her recent form.

She won in allowance company three back at Fair Grounds before winning the Rachel Alexandra and Fair Grounds Oaks.

It’s not the best traditional Kentucky Oaks form, but she’s in good hands with Cox, and the +375 odds are justified.

Godolphin took an age to win its first Oaks, but it could go back-to-back after Pretty Mischievous won in 2023.

“Look, this filly is very good,” said Cox, who is looking for his third Oaks victory. “She’s shown up and had a great winter at the Fair Grounds – had three wins, all around two turns. She actually overcame a good bit last time in the Fair Grounds Oaks”.

“For her to stay on and finish up the way she did last time, I thought really showed how good she is. And based off the pedigree, I think she can handle the mile and an eighth. I’m looking forward to giving her the opportunity.”

Those are confident words from Cox, and he knows what it takes to train a Kentucky Oaks winner odds.

Leslie’s Rose vs Tarifa: Kentucky Oaks Betting Battle at +475 Odds

Following a terrific win in the Grade 1 Ashland, Leslie’s Rose comes into calculations.

The Todd Pletcher-trained daughter of Into Mischief is bred to be good, and she has shown plenty of talent on the race track.

She kicked off her career with wins at Aqueduct and Gulfstream Park before finishing third in the Davona Dale. However, she got back to her best form last start at Keeneland, and that’s a good form guide.

It comes as no surprise to see her on the second line of Kentucky Oaks betting at +475. She’s the joint second favorite with two other runners, but we expect her odds to firm on race day.

She rates well based on her Ashland win, and she should give Tarifa a run for her money.

Kentucky Oaks Betting Lines Favor Anna (+475) for Trifecta Spot

Thorpedo Anna has solid form lines for the Kentucky Oaks, including a last-start win in the Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

In the hands of Ken McPeek, the daughter of Fast Anna owns three wins from four starts, and her only defeat came when running second behind Intricate in the Grade 2 Golden Rod.

There’s little wrong with that form, and there has been solid market confidence for her at Kentucky Oaks betting lines +475. Her work throughout the week has been solid, and she looks prime and ready to fire.

Late betting markets will be telling, so keep an eye on those for the late push. Either way, she’s a trifecta hope.

Where’s My Ring? +1500 Offer Huge Payout Potential in Horse Racing Odds

Where’s My Ring has steadily improved throughout her career, and having the experience edge could be telling.

She owns one win from eight starts, which came last time out at Aqueduct in the Gazelle Stakes. It might have taken her eight starts to win, but she had a placing behind Kinza in the Santa Ysabel.

The daughter of Twirling Candy also ran eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies behind Just F Y I, but has improved since that run.

She’s good enough to turn that performance around, and there’s no doubt she has strengthened up since her 2-year-old campaign.

Getting +1500 odds with horse racing odds is too good to pass up, and the Kentucky Oaks is even enough to see an upset happen.
