The Cast Just Keeps Getting Crazier
It’s Bad Bunny, and his appearance will likely be a fun little pop culture moment…
Okay, so Happy Gilmore is one of those movies everyone loves. It’s got Adam Sandler in his prime, Julie Bowen as the love interest, and Shooter McGavin serving pure villain chaos. It was a classic in ’96, but here we are—nearly 30 years later—with a sequel.
While I’m usually skeptical of sequels made decades later (because let’s be honest, they hardly ever do the original justice), I can’t lie… the Happy Gilmore 2 cast is kind of insane.

First off, Bad Bunny. Yeah, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasió himself has just joined the cast. I don’t know how he is as an actor (seriously, how much screen time did he even get in Bullet Train?), but let’s be real—he’s probably playing a small role with just a few lines. So no pressure, right? It’s Bad Bunny, and his appearance will likely be a fun little pop culture moment. Perhaps this will be just part of a long list of Bad Bunny movies we’ll get in the future.
What a Cast!
To add to the list of celeb cameos, of course, Travis Kelce is joining in on the new Adam Sandler movie. Then we’ve got Paige Spiranac, the queen of golf Instagram, playing a “Public Relations Lady.” It’s kind of perfect for her, considering she’s practically the face of modern golf, but the fact that she’s in this movie? Chef’s kiss.
And let’s not forget the return of Julie Bowen as Virginia Venit and Christopher McDonald as the legendary Shooter McGavin. These two are the OGs, and honestly, I think they’re the key to keeping the whole thing together.

Oh, and Sydney Sweeney’s in it too. The entertainment news about her joining the cast as the “cart girl” was revealed several months ago. In my opinion, this might be the best choice of casting overall.
Look, I’m not upset about all these cameos. It’s a Netflix sequel, so go wild. Plus, Adam Sandler movies always have crazy cameos. But like with any long-lost sequel, I’m keeping my expectations low—because history shows they’re rarely as good as the first.
