Eyes on the Prize 👀🏅
Let him grind for four years, and who knows? Speed might just shock us all…
Picture this: IShowSpeed is on a panel at ComplexCon Las Vegas, casually telling the crowd he’s planning to run in the 2028 Olympics. Yes, the same guy who’s built a career out of screaming at video games and lighting fireworks in his room now says he’ll be sprinting with the fastest humans alive. Wild? Absolutely. But after seeing him hold his own against Noah Lyles, I can’t say I hate the idea.
YouTube streamer ‘Speed’ said he will be running at the 2028 Olympics
He said he will be running the 100m, 200m and 50m 😅

Almost Beating Lyles Changes Everything
Speed recently raced Olympic medalist Noah Lyles in a 50-meter sprint for $100K. And here’s the weird part: he didn’t totally embarrass himself. Like, yeah, Lyles won (obviously), but Speed was surprisingly close. Close enough that Lyles straight-up said Speed should consider training seriously for a shot at the Team USA roster in 2028.

I don’t know about you, but watching Speed hold his own against an Olympic champ gave me just enough hope to entertain this madness. If he dedicates the next four years to actual training, who’s to say he couldn’t qualify? Gold medal? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. But making it to the games? Maybe. Plus, imagine the celebrity rumors if Speed makes it—TikTok would melt.

The 100-Meter Rematch
Lyles suggested they rerun the race—this time in the 100 meters. Now, that is something I need in my life. Not just because it would be wildly entertaining (it will), but because it’ll give us a clearer picture of Speed’s potential. The 50-meter sprint was great, but the 100 meters is the big leagues. If Speed can hold his ground there, I might start to bet on celebrities, because they might be the new pipeline to the Olympic team.
Can Speed Actually Do It?
Look, transitioning from streaming to sprinting at an Olympic level is no joke. The training alone would be brutal. But if anyone can channel chaotic energy into an actual sport, it’s Speed. This isn’t just about Speed being fast—it’s about him being obsessed enough to make it happen. And knowing Speed, obsession is kind of his thing.

So, yeah, I’m not ruling him out yet. Give the man his rematch with Lyles, let him grind for four years, and who knows? Speed might just shock us all. Either way, the 2028 Olympics are already looking a lot more fun in celebrity news.
