‘Knives Out 3’ Title Confirmed, Daniel Craig Set to Return

We Have High Hopes for the Third Installment of the ‘Knives Out’ Movies Because ‘Glass Onion’ Was a Let-Down

And the Title Is…

Who knew so many people would resonate with a throwback whodunit movie?

This shouldn’t come as a surprise due to the success of the first two films but Rian Johnson is back with another Knives Out film. The director/writer took to X the big entertainment news that a third film is coming out and it’s titled Wake Up Dead Man.

There’s no word on who the Knives Out cast might feature but it’s safe to say that Daniel Craig will return as Benoit Blanc. He’s the star of the franchise and narrated the little announcement teaser that Johnson posted.

Craig really is the most entertaining piece of these movies so him coming back is a must. The first Knives Out film was a surprise hit. Who knew so many people would resonate with a throwback whodunit movie? To me, Glass Onion wasn’t anywhere close to the first film in terms of quality. That makes a return to the franchise a bit concerning.

Johnson is very political and so are his movies. The problem is that he’s not subtle so it comes off as preachy a lot of the time. Glass Onion is the worst example of this so here’s hoping he pulls back a bit in Wake Up Dead Man.

What to Expect from ‘Wake Up Dead Man’

Johnson is who he is at this point so there will be a political element to Wake Up Dead Man. However, the political climate in America isn’t as polarizing at the moment so maybe he’ll be able to focus on telling a fun story.

They haven’t given away any plot details as of yet but it’s safe to say the film will involve a central mystery. Let’s focus on the title. When I hear “Wake Up Dead Man,” my brain goes to a potential mummy storyline that involves Egyptian artifacts. That might be a stretch but there’s nothing more throwback than a whodunit about Egyptian treasures.

That said, we also know that there will be some kind of murder involved as that’s what the catalyst was for the first two movies. Also, it’s safe to say that this movie will have a stacked cast.

The first two films were filled with A-listers and iconic character actors. That won’t be any different in “Wake Up Dead Man.” Rian Johnson has worked with actors like Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Adam Driver, Bryan Cranston, and so many more. I think any of those would be a great fit in this universe. Even though I only kind of like the first film and really didn’t like the second, I’ll probably be excited to watch Wake Up Dead Man because whodunits are always fun.
