Okay fine, I’ll buy TikTok so it doesn’t get banned. – MrBeast

So apparently, MrBeast—YouTube legend, professional cash giveaway guy, and all-around internet king—has offered to save TikTok from getting banned in the US. He tweeted, “Okay fine, I’ll buy TikTok so it doesn’t get banned.

Can He Actually Do It?

TikTok’s estimated U.S. operations value is somewhere in the tens of billions, and the MrBeast net worth sits somewhere very, very south of that. Still impressive? Yes. Enough to buy TikTok though? Not even close. He’d need a squad of billionaires backing him, and even then, Congress would probably find a way to make it as painful as possible.

That’s not stopping the entertainment rumors, though. Sources say wealthy investor groups are looking at MrBeast to potentially invest in TikTok and become a minority owner. So, best case scenario, he throws in some cash, gets a little equity and becomes the face of the platform. Worst case? TikTok gets banned, and we all pretend Instagram Reels is fun for a week before we give up.

Listen, I love TikTok. It’s fun and informative, and it really just understands me. The idea of losing it because of some national security drama just feels so tragic. So if MrBeast wants to throw his name into the mix to save it, I’m all for it. Even if it started off as a joke in entertainment news.

Betting on TikTok’s Fate

For the gamblers out there (especially the ones betting on entertainment), BetUS odds are out on whether TikTok survives past January 19. It’s not looking great. If ByteDance doesn’t sell its U.S. stake, the app could stop working altogether; no updates, no downloads, and no more oddly specific algorithm recommendations that know you’re currently shopping for a new rug.

What’s Next?

So, could MrBeast actually save TikTok? Maybe. But hey, the idea of him swooping in with a cadre of billionaires to keep it alive is fun to think about. Then again, the guy’s already juggling a few things: he just got engaged, he’s floating the idea of running for president, and running one of the biggest channels on YouTube. But if he pulls it off despite the betting odds, maybe he can tackle saving Twitter next. Just a thought.
