Legends Never Die 🔥
If this is the end of the road for Ozzy and Sabbath, it’s the best way to go out…
I hadn’t really processed that it’s been twenty years since the original Black Sabbath lineup last played together, but now that I’m thinking about it, that’s a long time to go without the guys who basically invented heavy metal sharing a stage. And yet, here we are: Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward are reuniting for one final show. If you even remotely like metal, this is the best entertainment news you’ll hear all year.

Black Sabbath is reuniting for one final show at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5. Yes, they already did a farewell tour in 2017. Yes, they’re back. And yes, it’s actually for a good reason. The event is called Back to the Beginning, and it’s a massive fundraising concert featuring some of the biggest names in metal.
This festival lineup is absurd. Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, and Mastodon are all on the bill. And because that wasn’t enough, there’s a “supergroup” featuring Slash, Duff McKagan, Tom Morello, Fred Durst (yes, really), and Wolfgang Van Halen, among others.
If you’ve ever thought, “Wow, I’d love to see an entire festival lineup of people who actually know how to play their instruments” congratulations, your dream is now a reality.
The original @BlackSabbath – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will play for the first time in 20 years. The band will take to the stage to headline BACK TO THE BEGINNING on July 5th at Villa Park.

The Last Farewell (For Real This Time)
Ozzy Osbourne is 76 years old (yeah, you read that right—how old is Ozzy Osbourne? Old), and he’s saying this is it, his final performance. Even with him dealing with Parkinson’s, multiple spinal surgeries, and more health issues than most people would push through, he’s set on going out this way.
“This is his full stop,” Sharon Osbourne said, which, if you know anything about Ozzy, feels like something we’ve heard before in entertainment rumors. But if this really is the end, there’s no better way to wrap it up than reuniting with Sabbath in the city where it all started.
“Ozzy wants to say thank you to everybody” – NME went down to the launch of ‘Back To The Beginning’, announcing Ozzy’s final ever gig featuring @BlackSabbath in Birmingham at @AVFCOfficial’s Villa Park.https://t.co/YWLsPoN3Vu pic.twitter.com/ArwEzSLAk2

A Heavy Metal Goodbye
Black Sabbath is responsible for some of the most iconic songs of all time (Paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs—you get it). And while we thought we’d seen the last of them in 2017, this is the kind of encore that actually makes sense. One final show, in their hometown, with an all-star lineup, raising money for a good cause.
If this is the end of the road for Ozzy and Sabbath, it’s the best way to go out. If it’s not? Well, see you in another five years when they “retire” again.
