Sad Juice WRLD Day Drama
Put down the chicken wings and Tata chips Nefew… – Snoop Dogg
Over the weekend at Juice WRLD Day 2024, rising rapper Dave Blunts found himself in the middle of a storm of entertainment news. The 23-year-old artist, whose real name is Davion Blessing, performed at Chicago’s United Center for the fourth annual tribute to the late Juice WRLD.
The event, marking what would’ve been Juice WRLD’s 26th birthday, featured star-studded performances from artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Kid LAROI, and Future. However, it was Blunts’ set—and the drama it sparked—that stole the spotlight.

Respect the Struggle!
Blunts, who is morbidly obese, performed seated and with an oxygen tank. It should’ve been a moment of pure tribute, but instead, it veered into controversy when Blunts addressed some less-than-kind comments from Snoop Dogg.
In a now-viral Instagram post, Snoop—who’s built a reputation for both humor and sharp-tongued critiques—mocked Blunts’ weight, quipping, ”Put down the chicken wings and Tata chips Nefew and that chair gonna break soon get to the end of the cup.”

Blunts fired back: “Snoop, you think you funny? You don’t know what it’s like to fight for your life every damn day. I got demons, and a tank to prove it. Don’t come for me when you’ve been blessed enough to be here that long. Respect the struggle.”
I mean, honestly. How old is Snoop Dogg again? Even at 53 years old, he’s always been rail thin. Weight issues as severe as Dave Blunts usually stem from a combination of severe psychological issues and genetics which predispose you to some sort of weight issues.

“That was funny, go head lil homie, I mean big homie… I ain’t f*cking with you… I apologize to this n****, he’s still going off on me.” pic.twitter.com/Nouv6Q9Lzr

A Necessary Intervention?
Here’s the thing: watching someone visibly unwell perform is uncomfortable. If Blunts were visibly battling addiction on stage, we’d be calling for intervention. Obesity, like addiction, is a health crisis. Snoop Dogg’s longevity in the industry has made him a legend and perhaps his comments could serve as a wake-up call. The question is: will anyone in Blunts’ circle step in? Maybe he should use Snoop Dogg’s net worth and pay for Dave’s treatment instead of talking smack.
We’ve seen this before with figures like Eugenia Cooney (the anorexic TikToker)—public outcry doesn’t always lead to change. But as entertainment rumors swirl, let’s hope this sparks a conversation about how to best help public figures whose health is clearly at risk. At Dave Blunts’ age, he should have his whole life ahead of him.
