Those Hips Don’t Lie, and Neither Will Mujeres Ya No Lloran 😌

Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. – Shakira

Not since El Dorado in 2017 have we been blessed with a Shakira album, but fear not, my friends… the inspiration has been running through her veins lately, and a brand-new album is arriving on March 22, entitled Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.

And for those who aren’t fluent in Spanish, the album name translated to English is “F*ck you Pique.”

Ok, so I’m telling fibs, but it’s not far off; the actual translation of the album title is “Women Don’t Cry Anymore,” and the cover art features the beautiful Shakira herself in a portrait style as she’s crying diamonds. However, I somehow sense the latter may not be aimed at Pique and is more of an indirect to the IRS, with whom she recently paid millions in back taxes.

In my latest Valentine’s Day hit piece, I touched on Shakira’s new song, “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol.53,” and how the Pique diss track was a viral hit. This banger, which won Song of the Year and Best Pop Song at the Latin Grammy Awards in 2023, has been confirmed on her new album’s track list, which is likely telling of the theme we should expect throughout.

Nothing inspires creativity like raw emotion, and when “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol.53” hit 80 million streams during its first week on Spotify, making a 16-track album talking smack about Pique was obviously a no-brainer.

In regards to her latest comments on the release, Shakira said:

“Making this body of work has been an alchemical process. While writing each, I was rebuilding myself. While singing them, my years transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength.”

In other words, some fool played me, and now I’m making fat stacks of cash from it. But hey, whatever gets us more Shakira songs makes us happy.

I must say, celebrity news and pop stardom are off to a cracking start in 2024. With Shakira’s album release coming in March, it will drop alongside Ariana Grande, Tyla, and Beyonce albums set for release in the same month!

And on that note, as I close out the article, let’s take a moment to commemorate that time when Shakira and Bey released “Beautiful Liar” seventeen years ago and caused every man across the globe to become pop fans. 😍

No, no, no, I’m not finished… I’m signing out with the Shakira and J-Lo Super Halftime show instead. 🤤🤤
