Taylor Waited Years For This

I am overjoyed as I skip down the street listening to this song…

T-Swift and Kim K’s 2016 beef resurfaced in entertainment news again in December of last year when she called out the Kardashian by name in her TIME’s Person of The Year interview. “You have a fully manufactured frame job in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar.”

Now, in her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, she doubled down with a track titled, thanK you aIMee on part two of TTPD, where the capitalized letters spell out KIM. The song serves as an allegory for Taylor’s history with Kim, portraying her as the underdog against a high school bully.

I’m not going to refresh you on the intricacies of the beef between Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift and the celebrity rumors that followed. If you’ve been alive and breathing with access to WiFi, you already know there is nothing good happening between the two. If you need a slight debrief, here you go.

Chorus to Swift’s new song thanK you aIMee:

All that time you were throwin’ punches, it was all for nothin’

And our town, it looks so small from way up here

Screamed, “Thank you, Aimee”

To the night sky and the stars are stunnin’

‘Cause I can’t forget the way you made me heal

Everyone knows that my mother is a saintly woman

But she used to say she wished that you were dead

So I pushed each boulder up that hill

Your words were still just ringin’ in my head, ringin’ in my head

You heard it here first, folks. Taylor Swift’s mom, Andrea Swift, wished for Kim Kardashian’s death. I’m joking… Kind of. Obviously, Taylor Swift albums are works of art and should not be interpreted as factual. However, it’s not hard to imagine that there was some intense anger directed towards Kim K from the Swifts at the time.

Personally, I am overjoyed as I skip down the street listening to this song. Kim Kardashian’s attempt to bring Taylor Swift down was a massive blow to her career and well-being. The fact that Taylor patiently waited until she was at the height of her success to strike back at Kim K in a similar manner is simply poetic justice, served up by none other than the Tortured Poet herself.
