He is truly an LA icon… – Casey Wasserman
If absolutely nothing in your life has made sense lately, here’s something that actually does: Kendrick Lamar might be performing at the 2028 Summer Olympics in LA. Not confirmed, but Olympic organizing chair Casey Wasserman basically spelled it out for us.
“Fortunately, in my day job, I represent Kendrick Lamar,” Wasserman told the AP. “He is truly an LA icon, so I think it would be a pretty fair bet that Kendrick will be involved in the Olympics in Los Angeles in some way.”

So yeah. Put your money on it.
Kendrick’s obviously at one of the high points in his career right now. Not Like Us broke records, cleaned up at the Grammys, and left Drake in a ditch. And the Super Bowl performance? He literally referenced the lawsuits mid-set. That was the nail in the coffin.
The thing is though, 2028 is a long time from now. Not Like Us already feels a little played out. The Kendrick Lamar tour will keep him relevant for a bit, but staying at this level for three more years? That’s asking a lot. Then again, if you’re the LA Olympics and you don’t book Kendrick, who exactly are you booking? Imagine Dragons?
The Grammys, The Super Bowl…and now possibly the Olympics…
The Kendrick run is unprecedented.

Drake vs Kendrick Just Became A Venue War
This whole Drake and Kendrick Lamar thing left the studio a long time ago. We’re not talking tracks, or about a Drake diss anymore. We’re talking locations, baby! Stages. Audiences in the billions. You think this is about who drops the better diss? Keep up. It’s about who gets the bigger crowd.
Kendrick has the Olympics circling. Drake, meanwhile, is rumored to be performing at this little event called the 2026 World Cup. Maybe you’ve heard of it. Just a casual gathering of two billion people. FIFA president Gianni Infantino even said it “could create a bit of a rivalry,” as if that hasn’t already been the entire plot.
So now we’ve got two of the biggest artists on the planet in another comp to see who can get the bigger stage. The Olympics vs. the World Cup. NBC viewership vs literally the entire internet.

I don’t even need an album from either of them at this point. Just keep escalating the venues and performances until I never want to see either of their names in entertainment news again. That’s all I want.
