I feel Nate does him EASY here for real. $500k gets me $1,625,000 all in… – McGregor
Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC octagon has been a tormented wait for fans and critics alike, and we’re almost certain the “Notorious” is desperate to throw a few menacing left straights in the cage himself. However, if it’s success the Irishman is craving, he’ll be overwhelmingly satisfied, particularly in the world of sports betting.

McGregor, the Sports Bettor
It’s been nearly three years since Ireland’s megastar suffered that horrendous leg break versus Dustin Poirier and topped MMA news for all the wrong reasons. Still, even in his competitive absence, he managed to break company records for UFC 303 before the announcement of a toe injury and consequent withdrawal, thus proving his name value and star power are as big as ever.

With McGregor’s official return fight expected within the next two to four months, the former two-division UFC champion has found alternate avenues to boost his bankroll as Conor McGregor, the betting man, has been born.
This past weekend saw McGregor slap $500,000 on a moneyline wager. Not only did the Mac-Daddy place an eye-watering amount on the bet, but he also placed it on his long-term foe, Nate Diaz.
Diaz was scheduled to face Jorge Masvidal in a ten-round boxing contest this past weekend. McGregor needed the former to walk out victorious to secure a bag of just over $1.6 million.
Just watched back some of the #DiazMasvidal boxing match.
How is it these 39yr old MMA fighters just put on a better show than most boxers younger than them😅

Conor announced his betting plans via social media, but it wouldn’t be true to his persona if he didn’t add some insults to his fellow UFC legends:
“I’ve decided to put $500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match,” McGregor said before the bout. “Range, form experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever.”
“They are both little play around dipshi*ts in a fight, play around bollox, but I feel Nate does him EASY here for real. $500k gets me $1,625,000 all in.”
Diaz took the dub, and as envisioned by McGregor, the range was a problem for Jorge, and a pretty penny was taken for ‘The Notorious.’
Stockton’s finest was informed of the wager during the post-fight press conference, and in typical Diaz fashion, he had very little to say: “That’s cool,” he murmured as the media laughed in response.

Be Careful Tailing McGregor Long-Term
I’m sure many onlookers were impressed by Conor’s “handicapping skills,” including his UFC boss, Dana White, who loves to risk millions inside the casino. But tailers beware: McGregor already lost $60k betting on Cristiano Ronaldo this month, so I warn you to be cautious about his advice based on one win.
Conor McGregor really bet 60K on Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Golden Boot at Euro 2024 😳💰 pic.twitter.com/h1l4psCf8M

McGregor placed a bet on Ronaldo to win the Euro 2024 Golden Boot, but after five games, two lots of extra time, several free-kicks, and an open-play penalty, CR7 netted zero goals!
Portugal were sent packing during their quarter-final meeting with France, and Ronaldo, who had 23 shots during the tournament – more than any other player – didn’t get one goal, let alone the Golden Boot.
