Despite the Rumors 🥊

Right now, Tom and I have agreed to wait for the UFC to make their announcements. – Jon Jones

Despite the ongoing UFC rumors causing fans to worry that a heavyweight unification bout won’t take place, Jon Jones has dropped a cheeky hint that his showdown with Tom Aspinall is all set and ready to go.

The UFC heavyweight champ has been on a bit of a break since delivering a knockout punch to Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 back in November. And while he’s been busy perfecting his couch potato skills, the MMA universe has been desperate to see him defend the strap versus the interim titleholder, Tom Aspinall.

Since his UFC 309 DUB, Jones has been consistently involved in talks regarding a unification showdown with the interim champ, as we’ve eagerly remained tuned for the punchlines!

Over 150,000 fans are shaking their heads in frustration at the American’s apparent reluctance to step into the ring, and they’ve rallied together to sign a petition demanding he be stripped of his title.

But hold your horses! His latest update might just save us from said fate…

‘When Are You Fighting Aspinall?’

During a recent work-based tour in Asia, Jones has been shooting television, conducting multiple interviews, and, of course, continuing his trolling of the UFC fan base about not fighting Aspinall, or potentially not fighting again.

However, in a surprising turn of events, during fan questions at the largest MMA seminar in Phuket’s history, Bones gave us a glimpse of hope.

One fan bluntly asked: “When are you fighting Tom?” No, there wasn’t a direct answer from the two-division, long-reigning UFC champ, but this was his response:

I was waiting for it… The UFC, I, and Tom, we’ve all got a lot of stuff happening behind the scenes. They’re one of the biggest organizations in sports. Right now, Tom and I have agreed to wait for the UFC to make their announcements. So, legally, I can’t really talk about it.

Of all the dream UFC fights we can’t conjure up in our minds right now, Jones vs. Aspinall is at the head of the table, and if this recent statement isn’t all but a confirmation, I don’t know what is!

Finally… We have some words of encouragement regarding this super fight, and hopefully the Jones UFC news of the past surrounding his retirement and/or ducking claims was nothing but a troll all along…

Fans Lose Their Minds

Because Jones has continuously played up to the MMA community’s labelling him as a duck, hearing those words got the same community riled up in excitement.

One fan on X wrote: “Holy sh**, I told you all.

Another said: “It better be November MSG at the latest.

A third commented: “No Way, it’s finally happening.

All we can do now is sit and pray to the MMA Gods that Dana White has that contract drawn up, signed, and ready to announce!
