Finally!
Hands down, there is no bigger fight than Alvarez versus Crawford right now…
After years of debate, speculation, boxing rumors, and desire, a collision between the planet’s two highest-ranked pound-for-pound boxers is a few signatures away from taking place in 2025.
Your Excellency Turki Alalshikh promised pugilist fans a spectacular 2025. With Haney vs. Garcia II already rumored, a potential showdown between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder speculated, and a slew of high-profile bouts we wouldn’t see without Turki’s assistance otherwise, Canelo vs. Crawford is the icing on the cake, and one battle of the greats that will set the boxing world abuzz, in what could very well be the biggest year in boxing history.
“If the numbers were right with (Terence)Crawford you will do it(the fight)?”
Canelo Alvarez: “Why not? Don’t get me wrong…he’s a great fighter, but for me in my weight class(168) it’s an easy fight. Easy money. If the money is right, I’m in”

For Crawford, he’s pursued Canelo for some time, so much so that he’s willing to move two weight classes to make it happen. On the other hand, Canelo hasn’t been so eager, although he always proclaimed that if ‘the money is right,’ he’d be open to the idea.
This fight alone has the drawing power to be a commercial phenomenon, but it seemed doubtful until the Saudi boxing chief was in talks with both camps.
Fortunately, both fighters have since been open to the fight—God bless Turki—and a lot of progress has been made.

ESPN Confirm Canelo vs. Crawford Is Close…
The speculative side of things is starting to dwindle as boxing news erupts with headlines after ESPN hinting that the deal is nearly finalizing.
The location? Las Vegas, of course! The anticipated date? Rumors have suggested September. As for the weight, this is where Canelo would seemingly hold a significant advantage, as the bout would be fought at 168lbs.
A rehydration clause isn’t expected to be on the contract, and as ‘Bud’ would be making his debut in a fifth weight class, Canelo could be a rock-solid 200-pounder come fight night without said clause.
Interestingly, however, Crawford is a four-division champion, and due to his technical prowess and divisional dominance, the weight doesn’t faze some critics, who believe if anyone’s capable of five-division success, he would be the guy! This is yet another reason why this fight would go down as a once-in-a-lifetime type of fight!

Canelo Would Be the Favorite Versus Crawford
Hands down, there is no bigger fight than Alvarez versus Crawford right now, especially in the United States, where the interest would be massive for this career-defining moment in the latter’s career.
That said, Canelo will likely take the top spot in boxing betting odds. Given his size advantage, expecting the natural middleweight to sit as a betting favorite won’t come as a shock. However, Bud, who recently moved to light-middleweight (154lbs) and become a four-weight world champion, will be one of the least overlooked underdogs.
Haven’t we already learned not to sleep on Crawford’s skills.
If Canelo vs Crawford happens, it will not be a one sided fight. #BOXINGnBBQ#Boxing#CaneloCrawford

Although Bud is undoubtedly at the back end of his career, a final dust-up with Canelo, a fellow aging pugilist and legend of the sport, would be lucrative for both fighters from not just a financial standpoint but also a legacy one.
