The UFC Boss Absent From UFC 316 Presser 🥊
You can hide, Dana, but you can’t run from the UFC schedule we want.
Dana White has once again managed to ruffle feathers on social media and in UFC news by pulling a disappearing act at a major public event in Newark this week.
The UFC boss has made a name for himself by running the show at those fight week press conferences during big pay-per-view events, especially in the good ol’ U.S. of A. Well, it seems he decided to skip today’s UFC 316 press extravaganza, where Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili were trading barbs in the Prudential Center.
Personally, I don’t mind whether Dana is present for media obligations or not. Still, a large portion of the MMA community isn’t pleased, with some even questioning if he’s ready to move on from his current position.
UFC 316 Press Conference No-Show
Looks like Dana White decided to play hooky from yesterday afternoon’s press conference at the Prudential Center before UFC 316. Maybe he had a hot date with a couch and some Power Slap footage to watch! Either way, the UFC boss has been globetrotting like a pro, and while the UFC presser was underway, he couldn’t resist dropping a cheeky promotional post for his Phorm Energy on Instagram.

It seems our bald friend is becoming accustomed to pulling a disappearing act. Last time, he dodged the post-fight press conference after Belal Muhammad’s welterweight title slipped through his fingers to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315. It seems travel troubles were the culprit, leading to the unexpected cameo of UFC executive David Shaw in his place.
Could Mr. White just be avoiding questions about his GOAT Jon Jones?
On Thursday afternoon, our main man Jon Anik took over for White. He even shared his thoughts on when Jon Jones will finally step into the ring with Tom Aspinall, all while the crowd erupted into a chorus of ‘strip Jon Jones’ chants.
You can hide, Dana, but you can’t run from the UFC schedule we want. And despite the 316 presser being all about O’Malley rematching Merab, the outspoken MMA community won’t rest until we get a clear answer on the future of Jon Jones!

Fans Rage at Dana White
From X comments to YouTube replies on the UFC 316 press conference upload, fans unleashed their displeasure at the boss being a no-show.
“Fourteen minutes’ press conference for a PPV? What the f*** are we doing here, what have they done to the game I love?” One fan wrote.
The shortest UFC press conference of all time just took place for UFC 316
Literally a 13 minute press conference from when they were all sat down and questions began
They got one strip Jon Jones question and decided to wrap things up before they got more #UFC316

“He’s done,” another wrote, alluding to the UFC rumors that Dana White might have one foot out of the door.
At the end of the day, everyone needs to relax. Dana has barely missed a press conference in twenty years, and honestly, maybe he just is avoiding the bombardment of questions about Jon Jones because Saturday is all about the women’s and men’s bantamweight gold!
