Jake Paul Calls Out Tommy Fury for a Rematch

Boxing’s YouTube Frenzy: Frustration, Egos, and the Hunt for Legitimacy

At this point, it feels like any major boxing news and rumors I cover are centered around a group of YouTubers – unproven athletes that are incredible at running their gums but can only find success versus opponents that glaringly give them the upper hand.

Honestly, it’s tiring, but you can’t deny the attention these kids bring, specifically Jake Paul and his online nemesis KSI.

The bitterness of Jake Paul taking a big fat L to Tommy Fury cannot be hidden when he begrudgingly takes the high road whenever the topics are brought up. We know the loss dented your ego, Jake; I mean, you’ve gone straight back to challenging old MMA fighters after failing against a semi-legitimate boxer.

Jake Paul’s Desperate Rematch Quest

It seems in boxing latest news that Mr. Paul will fight Nate Diaz on August 5, and he should probably focus on this bout instead of acting desperate for a rematch with Tommy. Once KSI, a British YouTube boxer that’s kept an unblemished record and notably defeated Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, called out the little brother of Tyson Fury, it wasn’t long before Jake piped up.

Sign the damn contract and let me show you the difference between me and that fraud who only wins against retired MMA pensioners,” KSI said. On the back of it, Jake took to Twitter and said: Tommy, February, we run it back.”

In all fairness, Jake didn’t look horrific against Tommy, but he was the clear loser. He should allow KSI to have his moment; at least the man has been fighting opponents with boxing backgrounds, unlike the younger Paul brother, who’s yet to face and defeat anybody from the boxing world.

Moreover, KSI is the No.1 media personality involved in the boxing crossover. Some may disagree, but we know KSI vs Logan Paul II sold two million PPV buys; he’s also undefeated and has arguably faced an equal level of opponents that actually own refined boxing skills – bar Fury.

Tommy Fury Ignoring Jake Paul’s Ego to Silence KSI

When you compare KSI and Jake’s opponents, it makes more sense for Tommy to ignore the ego champ from Ohio and partake in a battle of Britain…

  • Joe Weller > Deji
  • Logal Paul > AnEsonGib
  • Swarmz < Nate Robinson
  • Luis Pineda > Ben Askren
  • FaZe Temperrr < Woodley
  • Joe Fournier > Anderson Silva

And let’s keep it 100; why risk it against Paul when you have the opportunity to silence the other obnoxious YouTube boxer?

Better yet, stop ducking each other! The most tiring factor about the KSI/Jake Paul saga is their willingness to talk sh*t online, but here we are years down the line, and these two haven’t clashed in the ring. All boxing news enthusiasts eagerly await the day when KSI and Jake Paul finally step into the boxing ring to settle their differences.

Perhaps I’m more annoyed than the average person, as I’m a combat sports purist and don’t respect undeserving egos. However, I admire anyone who steps into the ring, and you can’t take anything from how both Paul and KSI have evolved.

That said, do you know what would be satisfying? To watch Paul lose to Diaz while KSI KOs Fury. Not because I’m picking sides, I couldn’t give a sh*t either way, but you can’t deny that it would deliver some great entertainment.
