Fight! 🥊

“I’ve never seen sh*t like that in my life…” -Dana White

Another weekend behind us and another slew of epic fights for the record books took place at UFC Mexico City. From two underdogs in Brian Ortega and Brandon Royval, spoiling the success of Mexican fighters in the co-main and main event clashes to homebred talent like Manuel Torres and Yazmin Jauregui making their presence known on the roster.

However, regarding the Fight of the Night (FOTN) honors for UFC Mexico City, it was action outside of the octagon that could’ve easily walked away with a $50,000 bonus and sparked UFC rumors.

A mass scuffle broke out in the audience as multiple fans began to exchange strikes, rip shirts, and create their own MMA royal rumble. Security faltered to intervene, and good job because it provided the only one-punch knockout of the night.

During the brawl, one fan sporting a black shirt delivered a left hook Derrick Lewis would’ve even been proud of. Sign the man, Dana, because who doesn’t love a one-punch, walk-off KO?

Much respect @afeldMMA on X; his edit of Dana awarding the unknown Mexican knockout artist in the crowd a UFC contract was hilarious:

In all seriousness, UFC news journalists, of course, questioned Mr White on whether or not the chaos was bad for business, and the UFC President didn’t seem to mind.

Dana White: “I’ve never seen sh*t like that in my life

The fight in the crowd doesn’t look good for the UFC? That never happens. That literally never happens,” White responded to one reporter during the post-fight press conference.

No security. The fight just went on until it was over. I’ve never seen any shit like that in my life,” He added.

Now, you’ll notice some media members report how Dana White was “angry” when discussing the crowd brawl, but preview the above clip for yourself, and he’s smiling the entire time.

Perhaps the funniest comment from White was: “When that fight broke out, it felt like it was going forever, so I ran over and watched it.” LOL.

We now move on to UFC Vegas 87 this coming weekend with heavyweight brutes Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Shamil Gaziev headlining but don’t expect another fan looking for a performance bonus in the crowd as the secure and safe confines of the UFC Apex plays host.
