All-In on Mike Tyson
I ain’t gonna go against Mike Tyson! – Rampage Jackson
Iron Mike is 58 years old. The man should be looking at retirement home options, but instead, we’re four weeks out from the boxing legend’s return to the ring for Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul.
Health scares that run rampant in celebrity news prevented Tyson’s in-ring return earlier this year, thus reiterating that he’s too old to be fighting, as many critics and fans have wavered their concerns around his chances of overcoming the 27-year-old social media star turned-boxer…
One critic, however, former UFC light heavyweight and PRIDE FC champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, doesn’t care about the noise; he’s backing Tyson for the dub.

What did Rampage Jackson Say?
I wouldn’t take Rampage’s thoughts as betting advice, but when TMZ recently asked the UFC legend for his opinion on Tyson vs. Paul, despite the former’s ulcer complications and old age, he was all-in on the knockout artist of the eighties.
“He’s my favorite boxer,” Rampage said. “Anything can happen in the boxing ring,” he added. “But I ain’t gonna go against Mike Tyson.”
Rampage recognized the issues around “Father Time” and athletes competing years beyond their prime, but that isn’t deflecting him from how he believes this scenario will play out, where his all-time favorite and one of the biggest names in boxing history will compete against a significantly younger foe.

Smoking Weed and Fighting is a No, No
He grows it, sells it, and evidently loves it. Tyson’s relationship with cannabis has been public celebrity news for many years now, and he’s even gone on record to state that he’ll “probably be high” when fighting Jake Paul.
TMZ questioned Rampage Jackson about those recent boxing news comments, but he’s taking it with a grain of salt: “I don’t know about that,” Jackson replied. “Mike Tyson is probably just talking shi*, man.”
Who knows how serious Tyson was when discussing cannabis use and fighting Paul, but Rampage made it clear that smoking before competition can only be detrimental. Either way, whether Tyson has lit up a fat one beforehand or not, Jackon thinks he’ll have a few fat hooks that will “shut that kid up.”
It must be noted that Rampage Jackson’s opinion is one of few, especially as sportsbooks continue to take action on the other side. As of October 14, 2024, the betting odds on Paul are listed at -275, thus giving him an implied probability of 73%.
