Khabib Versus Frontier Airlines

What was the base for that, racial, national, or other one, I’m not sure… – Khabib Nurmagomedov

Birds are known for taking flight, but the former UFC lightweight champion and retired undefeated MMA superstar Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov was unable to take to the air this past weekend when Frontier Airlines removed him from one of their planes in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, 36, is often discussed in MMA GOAT conversations. His time dominating the 155-lb UFC lightweight division presented an unbeaten record in UFC news for one of the most dangerous men on the planet. However, Frontier Airlines escorted him off a plane, as an altercation between an air hostess and The Eagle has now gone viral.

While we don’t know the full details of what transpired, the UFC legend has accused the staff of being “rude from the start,” with a video released by a fellow passenger showing the air hostess telling Khabib he could not sit in the exit row.

The viral video isn’t the best quality, but you can hear Khabib saying, “It’s not fair,” and then explaining how he’d compiled with the airline staff during boarding: “When I was in check-in, they asked me, do I know English… and I say yes.”

Khabib Questions Racial Discrimination

Khabib took to social media to share his thoughts regarding the situation while also questioning if he’d been subject to racial discrimination.

The disagreement was whether Khabib, who sat in an emergency exit row, could be prepared to assist fellow passengers should an emergency occur.

In Khabib’s words on X, he explained how he has “very decent English and can understand everything and agreed to assist, she still insisted on removing me from my seat.”

“What was the base for that, racial, national, or other one, I’m not sure,” he added. The balls on them, huh?

Imagine questioning the most dangerous man at the airport, who’s won 29 UFC fights, when he’d clearly been complicit throughout. He’d arguably be the most useful man in an emergency in airline history.

Let’s be honest; if Khabib chose to, he could ragdoll the entire plane and remove every air host, passenger, security, and pilot before taking them to the cockpit and flying the plane himself.

The Final Destination

Fortunately, Khabib did clarify that he managed to catch another flight and reach his final destination:

“After 1.5 hours, I boarded another airline… and left [for] my destination,” his X post read.

The destination? Most likely California, the base of UFC 311 this weekend, where Khabib will be in the corner of longtime friend Islam Makhachev and his cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov, as both men compete for UFC gold in the co-main and main event.

Since exiting the sport, the former undefeated champ (29-0) has revealed a coaching role and remained a strong presence in UFC rumors. He continues to teach “Father’s Plan” under the Eagles MMA banner, and cousin Umar is up next as he’s already guided Makhachev to title glory.

Expect to see Khabib behind the octagon in the corner of both Makhachev and Umar this weekend. Once the airline security and hosts realize who they removed from their plane, I’m sure they’ll be counting their chickens that he chose peace instead of violence!
