13 Days Until UFC 300, the Countdown Is on!

When the Ultimate Fighting Championship hosted its first-ever numbered event, UFC 1, in 1993, nobody thought the unique idea of pitting the world’s top martial artists against one another would survive the test of time. Media publications labeled it “cock fighting for humans,” and it was viewed as nothing more than brutality inside a cage with little hope of legitimizing itself as a true professional sport.

Thirty-one years later, the UFC continues to be one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide. While the octagon festivities have undoubtedly changed since the days of Royce Gracie, Dan Severn, and Ken Shamrock, the ideology hasn’t–combat in the octagon delivers professional fighters from various disciplines, boxing, wrestling, kickboxing, etc., and pits them against one another to decide who is “the ultimate champion.”

UFC 300 Is Just Around the Corner

On April 14, 2024, the UFC will reach an unfathomable milestone. The company celebrates its three-hundredth pay-per-view event, UFC 300, and we’ve been dealing with UFC rumors regarding potential matchups since 2023 because of the hype that’s been generated.

With only 12 days remaining until the octagon festivities kick off, we have a complete line-up of 13 UFC fights scheduled. Boasting a preliminary card stacked with former champions and title contenders, we know it’s going to be special.

However, now that speculation regarding scheduled bouts is over, UFC news can only focus on the marketing material the promotion is dishing out, and let’s say they aren’t doing a terrible job.

The New UFC 300 Trailer Is Emotional

The official UFC 300 trailer dropped a few weeks ago. Still, during UFC Atlantic City this past weekend, another trailer was released with a focus on the company’s history and how some of the most memorable moments of the past parallel memories of the present.

Long-time fans of the sport will understand and likely get goosebumps when the trailer turns to what-if matchups we could’ve seen.

Tony Ferguson touching gloves with Khabib Nurmagomedov, stare downs with Jon Jones and Chuck Liddell, DC and Mark Coleman, Matt Hughes face to face with Kamaru Usman, Max Holloway, and BJ Penn raising hands after a brawl, Ronda Rousey and Valentina Shevchenko preparing to do battle, Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson and Alex Pereira trading blows, and the list goes on.

This moment in the trailer is emotional; it may even bring a tear to your eye. While we didn’t get to see those contests, matchmakers for UFC 300 have unequivocally prepared the greatest schedule of fights in professional mixed martial arts history.
