It’s easier to keep secrets when you’re playing in Anaheim, but now that he’s in Los Angeles, it was going to be impossible to hide who his wife was for long. Shohei Ohtani’s wife has finally been revealed.

Shohei Ohtani’s Wife is Basketball Star

After keeping his relationship status a secret for years, Shohei Ohtani dropped the bombshell MLB news about who his wife is on an Instagram story. Ohtani’s wife is Japanese basketball player Mamiko Tanaka.

The 27-year-old played for the Women’s Japan Basketball League’s Fujitsu Red Wave. She’s 5-foot-11 and plays center. She’s a match height-wise for the 6-foot-4 Ohtani. Man, these two are going to have some athletic kids if they decide to go that route.

Ohtani could likely have any single woman in Japan if he wanted but Tanaka was the person he chose to marry. There are very few details about their relationship. I have no clue how long they’ve been together or how they met each other. We don’t even know the exact date of their wedding.

Shohei Ohtani is Winning in Life

It’s a good time to be Shohei Ohtani right now. Not only did he get married recently, but he also signed the biggest contract in MLB history. Shohei Ohtani’s stats are also legendary.

Ohtani was already an international superstar but his star power is only going to rise now that he’s with the Dodgers. He’s likely going to make so much money from sponsorship deals that his MLB contract could be an afterthought.

Good for him. He’s worked hard and done things the right way. You never hear about him doing shady things in his personal life. It’s going to be really exciting to see what he does with the Dodgers this season.
