Absolute Legend!

Clearly, Lyles thinks highly of his ability if he’s willing to pull out the Exodia card…

It sucks that Noah Lyles is most famous for his comments about NBA champions not being world champions because he seems like a fun person.

ICYMI, Lyles will be representing Team USA in track and field events at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

The star runner is making sure to get his racing in before he’s on the world’s biggest stage. He’s clearly having some fun with his new fame. Ahead of his last two races, Lyles pulled out Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Now, I hate to admit this but I knew exactly which cards he pulled out. On Saturday, he showed us the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. While on Sunday, it was Exodia the Forbidden One.

When you collect all five pieces of Exodia, you automatically win, making it one of the most powerful card sets you can have. Clearly, Lyles thinks highly of his ability if he’s willing to pull out the Exodia card ahead of his race.

How Will Lyles Fare in the Olympics?

Look, I’ve been critical of Lyles making something so uninteresting like whether or not NBA champions can be considered world champions a hot-button topic, but I’m still pulling for him in the Paris Olympics.

Based on how he did in the 2024 Olympics trial, he has to be considered a favorite to win at least one gold medal. He finished first in the men’s 100m with a time of 9.83. This is only the trial so he’s likely saving his best for the actual games.

I know NBA players are probably chomping at the bit to win Team USA the gold this season so that they can shut Lyles up but they should be rooting for him to win gold. Whether or not you agree with his NBA stance, he’s representing Team USA and deserves the country’s support.
