A Tennis Icon Defying Conformity and Dominating the French Open
It wouldn’t be a grand slam tournament without some of Novak Djokovic’s latest tennis news and drama. The 2023 French Open has been no exception thus far.
Following his first-round match on May 29, Djokovic triggered the propaganda machine after signing the camera: “Kosovo is the heart of Serbia. Stop the violence,” referencing the unpleasant battles currently taking place in Northern provinces of Kosovo between ethnic Serbs of the north and Kosovo authorities.
Novak send a message “Stop the violence” after match, regarding today events.
“As a Serb, it hurts me, our people have been expelled from the municipalities. I don’t know if someone will punish me, but I would do it again”
So proud of him 🇷🇸❤️#NoleFam #Djokovic #RolandGarros pic.twitter.com/1dXzqXEf27

Free Speech and Activism in Tennis
The French minister, Amelie Oudea-Castera, threw his dummy out of the pram:
“When you carry messages about defending human rights, messages that bring people together around universal values, a sportsperson is free to express them,” he told the media. “But in this case, it was a message that is very activist and political. You shouldn’t get involved, especially in the current circumstances, and it shouldn’t happen again.”
Cry me a damn river.
Sorry Amelie, and the Kosovo Olympic Committee requested disciplinary action against Djokovic, but he kept within the grand slam rulebook. He won’t receive punishment from tennis authorities – you love to see it.
Whether you like Djokovic or not, you must respect the man. We must acknowledge that one of the primary reasons for many wars throughout history has been centered on freedom. So, when a sportsperson with a platform speaks out, we should be in support, whether we agree on the subject or not – free speech is imperative, and if the French Open Men news and rumors are Djokovic expressing what he stands for, I’m backing him!
Djokovic has long stood up for what he believes in, and nobody is returning this man into a corner, no matter the subject. As one of the world’s greatest tennis players, he’s an inspiration for a generation of kids that are otherwise told to keep quiet and do as they’re told.

Challenging Conventional Narratives On and Off the Tennis Court
Do you know what’s amusing? He’s being attacked in NATO national media because he was calling for peace – Nothing more than a high level of propaganda if you ask me; a laugh-out-loud situation, similar to how they condemned the man for not wanting to take a vaccine while making his opinion public.
On a lighter note, as I write this article, he’s silencing his haters in true Djokovic fashion with yet another impressive performance in the third round at Roland Garros. Let’s sign off with a clip of him dominating the French courts.
Nole dancing, slipping, and sliding. GOAT things. 🐐 #Djokovic pic.twitter.com/1Ez9uSRRpi
