I think just as a female athlete the body issue is just always like dope… -Cameron Brink

Brink is on top of the world, on Monday, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and her teammate Rickea Jackson threw out first pitches at the Diamondbacks-Dodgers game at Dodger Stadium and met Shohei Ohtani.

And Brink also appeared on Podcast P with Paul George. After landing the SLAM Magazine cover, George wanted to know if she wanted to appear in other magazines. Brink revealed that she always wanted to be part of ESPN’s Body Issue or a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

I think just as a female athlete the body issue is just always like dope,” Brink said. “Just to see how your body like as an athlete, purely as an athlete to appreciate like our bodies are our machines. Like it’s how we make our money so I think that’s always like a really cool concept. Or like Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, like I’ve always loved that. So, I think it’s super empowering. I just did Skims which was actually like a huge…like I manifested that.”

ESPN discontinued the Body Issue in 2019, but as WNBA rumors suggest, Brink could easily make next year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. I wouldn’t be mad at all if this happened, and I’m sure many of you agree with me!

Brink Is Meeting With Kim Kardashian

Brink shared a moment with Kardashian and her daughter North West before the Sparks’ season opener against the Dream on May 15. Brink shared more details about the viral meeting, which earned her plenty of praise, and what she told Kim K.

North West was given a Sparks jersey before the game and Brink took a photo with her and even called her “My bestie Miss Westie.

Brink opened up on the moment with Kardashian and her daughter, when George asked her about modeling for SKIMS—Kardashian’s shapewear and clothing brand. Brink admitted she was fangirling with Kim K and told her, “you’re even more beautiful in person.”

She added that it was an “out-of-body experience” for her. “I met her daughter North. It’s your bestie, Miss Westie. I love her.

Brink’s WNBA Career So Far

Brink had four points, eight rebounds, four blocks, three assists, and three steals on 2-of-2 shooting over 30 minutes in Tuesday’s 70-68 home win against the Mystics. She’s had at least two blocks in each of the three WNBA games of her career.

The game against the Mystics was the best of Brink’s career, as she had a career-high three steals and tied her career-high with eight rebounds. Brink is averaging six points, six rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 25 minutes over three games, and she’s made a big impact on defense with 11 blocks and four steals.
