Has Woods Gone Through Enough?

I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured… – Tiger Woods

The latest golf news has fans in their feel as Tiger Woods appears to be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” Wood revealed on X.

Not that there is ever a good time for injuries, but it is particularly unfortunate timing with the major season approaching. The Masters 2025 is about one month away, and the news makes it nearly impossible that we will see Woods at Augusta.

Is It Time for Tiger Woods to Retire?

The bigger question is what Woods should do moving forward. This is a significant injury and a quick look at the Google machine shows that a typical recovery ranges from six months to one year.

Even before the recent injury news, Woods has been forced to withdraw in several recent tournaments. We are witnessing Woods’ body breaking down.

While it is quite remarkable that Woods was able to play golf again after a serious car accident, the legend’s days of dominating golf tournaments appear to be over. I would still love to see Woods play the Masters and maybe a select tournament every year.

Yet, we could see Woods shift his focus to the new TGL league that has had some success on ESPN. The contests are less taxing on golfers’ bodies.

Forbes estimates that Tiger Woods’ net worth is $1.3 billion. With plenty of money in the bank, it is clear Woods simply loves golf and cannot walk away.

Who Will Win the Masters?

With the Woods’ golf Masters odds off the table, who will win this year at Augusta? Scottie Scheffler looked human at the Arnie in Orlando, but the star is still the favorite to win another green jacket.

The latest golf Masters odds have Scheffler leading the field at +425 followed by Rory McIlroy at +800. Keep an eye on Ludvig Aberg at +1100.

Rooting for you, Big Cat.
