Lewis Is Staying Put

I think [Horner’s] just stirring things; he loves that stuff. – Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton penned a new two-year, $62 million-per-year contract with Mercedes in August, but it had been reported to F1 news outlets that he held discussions with competitors Red Bull and Ferrari.

However, the latest F1 rumors aimed at Hamilton are allegedly nothing more than lies. The gloves are off, and the man himself hasn’t held back from expressing his feelings on the matter.

So, what’s going on?

For the duration of the season, Hamilton’s future was the subject of speculation, and Red Bull team principal Horner now asserts that his representatives approached the organization prior to his commitment to Mercedes. Additionally, the Red Bull CEO stated that the Britishman was in discussion with Ferrari CEO John Elkann.

However, ahead of this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Hamilton dismissed Horner for stating publicly that he intended to leave Mercedes and refuted rumors to the contrary.

When discussing the matter with Sky Sports, Hamilton said: “I don’t really get where that story has come from. I don’t know what he is talking about because, as far as I am aware, nobody from my team has spoken to him. I haven’t really spoken to him in years.

“I think he’s just stirring things; he loves that stuff. I would be more than happy to race against Max in an equal car, but for me, moving from a car that is not so great to a winning car is not a dream for me.”

God damn, Lewis, save some shade for the lamp.

Is it me, or do these comments feel passive-aggressive? Is he really that angry?

“He loves that kind of stuff,” implying that Horner is a regular sh*t stirrer, and “moving from a car that is not so great,” suggesting his losing seasons and Max Verstappen’s success are strictly based on the vehicles used, sound incredibly bitter to me… LOL.

And what about this one aimed at Horner… “If you are a little bit lonely, and are not getting much attention, that is the perfect thing to do; just mention my name.”

It’s not like he’s talking about a man who has led his team to the most successful season in F1 history or anything.

Laughable and petty.

This year, Hamilton will finish third in the standings, having gone two seasons without a victory, whereas the Dutchman is vying for his nineteenth victory in a record-setting campaign.

But sure, blame the car. This man is a joker and, quite evidently, a sore loser.

Let’s be honest; he will never join Red Bull because he no longer has an excuse for his current downtrend. Once Verstappen smokes him in the same car, then what?

The man has achieved great things in the sport, but more often than not, his personality is easy to dislike, and instead of acting like a spoiled brat, he should practice the art of class and decorum.
