McLaren dominated the Bahrain Grand Prix, specifically Oscar Piastri. As we called it, the Papaya team was unchallenged and would have had a 1-2 finish had Lando Norris not been penalized.

Thus far, this 2025 has been all about McLaren or Max Verstappen of Red Bull. Heading to Saudi Arabia, another fast circuit, F1 betting lines have it deadlocked between McLaren mates. But which one is worth betting on?

3 Saudi Arabian GP F1 Predictions
1. Piastri (+125) the Pick to Outduel Teammate Norris
Piastri’s win in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the most interesting head-to-head is the one between McLaren’s teammates. As Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna battled in the 1980s, these co-drivers will duke it out. The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix odds have them even at +125 each to win the race. But our money is on Piastri.
Picking Piastri is a bold move as no driver outside Verstappen has won consecutive races since 2021, when Lewis Hamilton won in Saudi Arabia, coincidentally. But we’d rather bet on Piastri as he has been a much better driver, save for that one ill-advised stunt he pulled in Australia.
Still, we can’t ignore how dominant Piastri was in Bahrain. In fact, most of the broadcasts ignored Piastri during the race – he was so far ahead that it was a moot point (even with several safety cars). That performance signaled to us that he, not Norris, is the championship-caliber driver. Bet on him to win, given the F1 odds.

2. Ferrari (-120) Outdoes Mercedes
While McLaren and Verstappen have hogged the F1 news, Mercedes has quietly held down the second spot in the constructors’ championship standings. George Russell has made the podium in three of the four races, and you may be tempted to bet him at +120 to do it again. But Mercedes has also struggled in Jeddah since Hamilton won in 2021. Instead, look to Ferrari.
Yes, it’s tough to bet on Ferrari now, given their form. But Charles Leclerc has usually done well at Jeddah, with two podiums in his three attempts with Ferrari. This circuit favors speed, and Ferrari typically has one of the fastest cars. Hamilton should join Leclerc as they nab top-six finishes. At -120, it is our F1 pick over Mercedes at similar odds.
Bet on Both Cars Top 6 Finish – Ferrari (-120)
3. Don’t Overlook Rookie Bearman
Don’t look now, but Haas is in fifth place in the team standings and their successful double top-10 in Bahrain is their second this season. It’s time to consider that the lone American team may be “forreal” and not a fluke. Our eyes are on rookie driver Oliver Bearman, who started at 20th but found his way to a 10th-placed finish.
The former reserve driver proved that his successful stint with Ferrari last season was a foreshadowing of how good he is. He may already be better than his veteran teammate, Esteban Ocon. Nonetheless, Bearman has a pair of top-10 finishes. He’s our F1 expert pick to score points at underdog odds.
Bet on Points Finish – Oliver Bearman (+225)
