Giannis x Steph 🔥

Giannis is as competitive as they come and he clearly wants to win.

For a while, Giannis Antetokounmpo seemed like he’d finish his career with the Milwaukee Bucks. However, this last year has been a rough ride. It started with the team getting embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs last season which led to head coach Mike Budenholzer getting fired.

The team then hired Adrian Griffin to replace him but he didn’t even make it to the NBA All-Star game before getting fired. Now Doc Rivers is the head coach and he’s already dropping excuses every chance he gets.

All of that is to say that things aren’t looking too good in Milwaukee and we haven’t even mentioned the Damian Lillard trade. Giannis is as competitive as they come and he clearly wants to win. Giannis’ stats are still incredible and he’s hinted in the past that he’d leave the Bucks if he didn’t feel like they were committed to winning and he could finally start feeling some unease with the direction they’re headed.

That’s where the Golden State Warriors come in. It’s been a disaster of a season so far for the Warriors and they are the 10th seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors’ roster isn’t what it once was and the team keeps making NBA news for the wrong reasons.

They need to take a big swing soon if they hope to take advantage of the final years of Steph Curry’s career. Well, the NBA trade rumors could heat up this offseason as the Warriors’ “dream scenario” this offseason is to land Giannis.

Now, likely every team would have a dream of adding Giannis. He’s arguably the best player in the world. The Warriors aren’t unique in that. However, they may be a team that can realistically make it happen.

Giannis can be a free agent after next season and the Bucks may find it preferable to trade him before he leaves for nothing. Jonathan Kuminga would have to be at the center of any trade and the Warriors would at minimum have to give up two first-round picks. To make the money work, Andrew Wiggins would need to be in the deal as well. Throwing in Moses Moody would likely also have to happen.

There’s no way the Bucks could equal value for Giannis. He’s just too good. That said, this trade would give them some young building blocks while keeping Giannis out of the East.
