What would the Lakers look like without LeBron?
Well, well, well… Looks like we have the NBA rumors cloud sitting over Los Angeles today as LeBron James is suddenly hinting retirement after the Lakers were swept by the Denver Nuggets.

Let’s take a look at this from a Lakers fan perspective: The Lakers have barely any assets left because they traded damn near every single one to go out and acquire players for another championship run. Limited draft capital and not being able to recoup assets in a deal for LeBron James would be absolutely catastrophic to the franchise.

A historic team like the Lakers cannot roll out an atrocious roster as they would currently roll out without LeBron. Can you imagine what Lakers nation would say when their leading scorer is Rui Hachimura for a season, because we all know Anthony ‘made-of-glass’ Davis is not going to be able to play an entire season without getting injured.
There are already rumors flying around Anthony Davis. Reports are saying he may be traded from the Lakers this off-season, potentially to a team like the Dallas Mavericks.
The Dallas Mavericks reportedly have interest in an Anthony Davis for Kyrie Irving sign and trade.
The Mavs would likely have to deal Josh Green to another team such as OKC for a first that would be sent to the Lakers.

Now, do I believe that LeBron James would leave the Lakers in an absolute dumpster fire by leaving? I do not. But it’s now a reality that we have to imagine what the NBA would be like without LeBron. This is one of the first times that we have an actual opportunity to picture what the league might look like without LeBron James.
I doubt we’d be having this conversation had the Lakers not gotten their asses kicked, but the fact is… the Lakers did get swept by the Nuggets. And LeBron isn’t exactly portraying that he is a good loser.
