Luka Is a Laker!
Luka, be your f*cking self. Don’t fit in, fit the f*ck out. – LeBron James
It’s rare that a Monday NBA game in the middle of February the day after the Super Bowl gets anybody watching it at all but not every game is Luka Doncic’s Los Angeles Lakers debut. Once the NBA news broke about the trade, everybody wanted to know when the Luka debut would be.
We had to wait a little longer than expected but we finally got to see Luka playing in a Lakers game. His first of many NBA games playing for the Lakers went about as good as fans could possibly hope for. Luka Doncic’s stats were just OK as he scored 14 points but what has to have fans excited is how seamlessly he fits with the team.

He was immediately making plays all over the court and his incredible passing was on display. While fans were euphoric watching him play, the happiest person may be LeBron James.
There was some worry that he might not be happy that they traded away his friend Anthony Davis but he seems to have moved on quickly.
LeBron Doing Everything He Can to Make Luka Comfortable
It’s extremely rare in any sport for a massive name like Luka Doncic to get traded in the middle of the season. Considering how big of a transition this is going to be, LeBron is doing everything he can to make the star guard comfortable.
Prior to the game, he sent a clear message to Luka about being himself on the court. “Luka, be your f*cking self. Don’t fit in, fit the f*ck out,” said LeBron.

Since he’s been a Laker, LeBron has been the last player announced at the start of every game. For the purposes of Luka’s Laker debut, he asked the guard what he wanted and that was to be the last name called.
LeBron texted Luka and gave him the choice on where he wanted to be announced during the starting lineups ahead of his Lakers debut 💜

LeBron has never been second to anybody so that’s a pretty big deal. If you still have doubt that LeBron is all on board with Luka being a Laker, cameras caught him smiling ear to ear after a big Luka play.

The vibes around the Lakers are immaculate right now and the NBA betting odds for them to win the title continue to improve. It’s a good time to be a Lakers fan.
