A Museum for the 👑
To have a place in my hometown that allows me to share my journey with my fans means a lot to me…
When LeBron James isn’t dominating NBA games, he’s got a lot going on off the court. He’s got several business ventures and his foundation just made a big announcement. The James Foundation is opening up a LeBron James museum in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
The museum will feature a recreation of the apartment he grew up in and a lot of unique memorabilia from over the years.
The LeBron James Museum dedicated to his journey and career milestones is set to open on Nov. 25 in his hometown of Akron. 🔥
Tickets will be $23

“My dream was always to put Akron on the map, so to have a place in my hometown that allows me to share my journey with my fans from all over the world means a lot to me,” James said in a statement. “I’ve been known to hang on to a lot of things over the years, and I always knew there would be a time and place to bring them out.”
LeBron James’ age is only 38 so he seems a little young to have a museum dedicated to him but he’s done a lot for Akron.
OK, I know where this is going to go. Many LeBron haters will probably make fun of the fact that he’s opening a museum dedicated to himself. Honestly, even as a fan of the Lakers star, it is a little funny. As great as he is, LeBron loves to remind people of his greatness.
That said, the proceeds will be going back to Akron so it’s not like he’s doing it to make a profit. It probably wasn’t even his original idea. I know, I know, he’s giving the haters a lot of ammo but who cares? It’s for charity and there are a lot of massive LeBron fans who will pay the $23 admission to see some new memorabilia, especially in Ohio.
This is still so crazy to me that this is happening!!! 🤯👑 I can’t wait for my fans all over the world to get a peek behind the curtain to see what we’ve built and where it all began. 🙏🏾 Ain’t nobody better mess up my room either!! 🤣🤣 Only in Akron! 🤎 https://t.co/rNHAIg8DPP https://t.co/TroA5VG7C3

Is it cringy to open a museum of yourself before you’re even 40? Yeah, it’s a little cringe. However, this guy has always been a little cringe so people who follow NBA news shouldn’t be surprised.
LeBron is arguably the greatest basketball player ever and is still playing at a high level despite being the oldest active player in the NBA. It’s odd that we’re memorializing him right now as he’s still playing but we live in a world where people want everybody to know how awesome they are. Even if you think he’s corny, LeBron is awesome at playing basketball and was probably gonna get a museum at some point.
