Let’s Settle This
I think it’s easier for a basketball player to try NFL… – LeBron James
In recent NBA news, LeBron James showed up on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, and it felt like Ohio’s finest having a family argument. Except this time, the whole world was listening. Naturally, the NBA vs. NFL debates came up, because how could they not?

NBA to NFL or NFL to NBA?
LeBron wasn’t holding back. “I want to say that I think it’s easier for a basketball player to try NFL over the NFL player trying to get in the NBA,” he said. He explained that basketball takes nonstop movement, coordination, and endurance, while football is more about quick bursts of action. “Football going to basketball, it’s such more coordination and running and jumping, consistent,” he added.
The Kelce brothers tried to back their guys, but LeBron wasn’t buying it. He even threw in a little something about his high school days, saying switching between basketball and football was like “riding a bike” for him. And he’s not wrong.

Sure, there are NFL guys who could probably hold their own in the NBA (DK Metcalf feels like an easy pick). No one’s expecting them to put up LeBron James stats, but still, let’s not act like your average linebacker is ready to run basket-to-basket and throw down a dunk.
Who Owns Christmas?
Then came the real fight: Who runs Christmas, the NBA or the NFL? LeBron’s been saying it’s the NBA’s holiday for years, but the Kelces came with receipts. Last year, NFL games on Netflix smoked the NBA in viewership—and, oh yeah, Beyoncé performed at halftime.
LeBron couldn’t argue with that. “I saw the f*cking numbers after the fact—you guys kicked our ass, OK?” he said. Respect.

But let’s not act like the NFL’s about to take over December 25. Unless they’re signing Beyoncé to a lifetime Christmas contract, the NBA’s got this locked. Lakers-Warriors NBA games are tradition. Texans-Ravens? A lucky one-off with Queen B.
One Guest Left
Getting LeBron proves the Kelce brothers are running the podcast world right now. But if they really want to top this, there’s only one person left: Taylor Swift. Picture her between Jason and Travis, taking sides on NBA vs. NFL and casually dropping 2025 Super Bowl halftime show hints (a girl can dream). It’s the crossover episode we all need.
new heights has had such an insane run of special guests this season… idk who else they could possibly get to come on atp 🤔 pic.twitter.com/W98LBfyDVn
