Lil Wayne Needs To Be Played At High Volume 🔊

You’re playing Lil Wayne too loud! – Lil Wayne

Beats is reintroducing the Beats Pill and has enlisted the help of Lil Wayne and LeBron James for a clever new commercial.

During the peak of the Bluetooth speaker trend in 2010, the Beats Pill stood out among its competitors. The previous version, the Beats Pill+, was released in 2015 but was later discontinued by Apple in 2022. Now, the Pill is making a comeback, and Beats is bringing back some familiar faces to help us reunite with it.

The ad features Lebron James’ wife, Savannah James, enjoying a party while Lil Wayne is trying to catch some Zs in another room. The rapper is in disbelief as the music is too loud for him to sleep. “How can I tell ‘em turn down Lil Wayne?” Wayne says to himself. “I’m Lil Wayne.”

After a labored and restless night, he decides to confront the party and tell LeBron: “You’re playing Lil Wayne too loud!” To which an incredulous Lebron responds: “But… You’re Lil Wayne. Wouldn’t Lil Wayne want us to play Lil Wayne too loud?”

In my humble opinion, you can never play Lil Wayne songs too loud. But let’s switch gears and talk about LeBron’s long-standing partnership with Beats.

LeBron x Beats Since ‘08

LeBron made NBA news back in 2008 when he joined forces with Dr. Dre as an ambassador for the brand. Unbeknownst to the public at the time, Lebron also ended up gaining part ownership of the company.

According to Bleacher Report, James only profited $30 million when Apple bought out the brand in 2014 (real poverty-stricken, I know). However, multiple sources have reported that he wasn’t just an ambassador but a silent investor as well. James’ profit from Beats has now reached upwards of $700 million due to the massive popularity of the headphones.

While his performances in NBA games certainly made him some coin, it’s clear that his stake in Beats is undoubtedly the largest contributor to the $1.2 billion Lebron James net worth. LeBron is poised to make even more bank with the relaunching of the new and improved Beats Pill, which is already receiving rave reviews online.

The latest iteration has been revamped to be lighter and easier to carry compared to its previous version. Its battery life has also been extended, now lasting up to 24 hours on a single charge. With the addition of USB-C audio and charging, the speaker is now even more versatile and can withstand dust and water. It is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, making it the go-to choice for music lovers on the go.

They drop tomorrow! See y’all in the streets, bumpin’ Lil Wayne!
