We Also Learned Curry Can Handle His Spice!
He [Bryant] gave me like the little ass tap, and I couldn’t even acknowledge that…
Steph Curry is used to getting hot from long range but the latest NBA news brings us an amazing video of the Warriors star’s ability to handle spicy wings. Curry made an appearance on the show Hot Ones where the guests are interviewed by YouTuber Sean Evans while eating wings that increase in spice as the discussion goes on.
One of the spicer moments from the interview was Curry sharing some amazing Kobe Bryant stories.
The first one was when Bryant first got to see Curry in person and the Golden State guard hit a leaner off the glass. Bryant was on the bench but was caught telling one of his Lakers teammates that Curry was “nice.”

Another moment happened during a preseason game when Bryant picked up Curry in a full-court press clearly attempting to prove a point. Curry was able to nail a three-pointer over Bryant but admitted to trying to play things “chill.” At halftime, Curry made sure to tell one of the Warriors’ video people that he wanted the highlight saved.
“He [Bryant] gave me like the little ass tap on the way back, and I couldn’t even acknowledge that either,” Curry explained. “I kind of just knocked him off and acted like I was playing on defense. I went right back at halftime, I was like I need that clip. Bring me that back. I gotta save that on my phone.”
The honorable Kevin O’Connor did the Lawd’s work by pairing the highlights to the stories.

Steph Curry Is Nice With Spice
To quote the late Black Mamba, not only is Curry “nice” on the court, but he is also nice with the spice when it comes to wings proving the NBA rumors about his tolerance true. Curry was able to progressively increase the spice level including the final challenge of eating The Last Dab: Apollo sauced wing.
Evans praised Curry for “taking on the wings of death.” Curry had a hot streak going similar to his warm-up routine where the star drains half-court shots.
Please don’t tell Curry about the One Chip Challenge.
Steph Curry’s New Doc Is a Treat
Curry was on the show to promote his new Apple TV documentary Stephen Curry: Underrated. The doc is worth your time, especially if you want to learn more about Curry’s origin story.
Now, it is unfathomable to imagine that Davidson was the only school to really recruit Curry out of high school. Teams appeared to be scared off by Curry’s size, a trend that would, unfortunately, continue during the 2009 NBA draft.
If there was one critique, it is that the film mostly focuses on Curry’s time at Davidson. I would have liked to have seen more behind-the-scenes footage with the Warriors. Our film extraordinaire Austin Boyd provides a full review of the Curry doc.
The documentary starts out with an absolute banger clip of Kevin Durant crashing Curry’s NYC party celebrating him breaking the three-court record.
