UConn and NC State Are on 🔥

The pathway for the [UConn] men cutting down the nets is easy to envision…

If you are a fan of UConn or NC State, March Madness has been particularly kind. We have a bit of double trouble with the Huskies and Wolfpack making it to the Final Four in both the men’s and women’s NCAAB tournament.

Has a school ever won both the men’s and women’s tourneys? It will not surprise you to learn that UConn became the only school to accomplish this feat back in 2004, and then again in 2014.

Now, the Huskies have a chance to repeat history with historic runs by both programs. Let’s be honest, UConn has a better shot at making history than NC State basketball given the long odds on both sides.

Can UConn basketball cut down the nets twice?

Can Paige Buckets Dethrone Caitlin Clark then South Carolina?

The Huskies are a massive favorite on the men’s side to win the national championship with -200 odds. UConn women’s basketball faces much longer odds at +750 which puts them third of the Final Four teams. South Carolina continues to be a heavy favorite at -215, even more of a favorite than the UConn men.

On the men’s side, UConn is a 12-point favorite versus Alabama. For the ladies, UConn finds itself as a 2 ½-point dog (shoutout to Jonathan the Husky) versus Caitlin Clark’s Iowa.

So, How Can UConn Sweep March Madness?

The pathway for the men cutting down the nets is easy to envision. The Huskies are a sizable favorite versus Bama and are expected to advance.

If UConn can survive a major upset, the Huskies are likely to face their biggest test of the NCAA tournament versus Purdue in the national title game. This is assuming Purdue is also able to defeat a red-hot NC State squad.

UConn women’s side is more complicated, but the Huskies have a chance to make NCAAW news with Paige “Call Me Ms. Buckets” Bueckers running the show. We are in for a real treat as Bueckers squares off against Clark in the semifinal matchup.

Even if UConn is able to defeat Iowa, things get even tougher in the championship game. South Carolina is a big-time favorite to defeat NC State. The Gamecocks are a perfect 36-0 this season.

To quote Dumb and Dumber, so you’re telling me there’s a chance?
