Caitlin’s Ass Barely Touched the Chair…

Thanks for making my dreams come true. – Caitlin Clark

The latest NCAAW news just got super weird. There is a chair that Caitlin Clark briefly sat on for player intros during the Big Ten tournament.

This chair just sold for $3,700 in an auction! Add that to your favorite Caitlin Clark stats.

Just to clarify, this is not Clark’s favorite chair. There is nothing significant about the chair other than Clark spent about 3.5 seconds in it before her name was called in the Big Ten tourney.

There are going to be some weirdos going around the Iowa campus looking for new merch to sell. Iowa City Starbucks better stay on high alert for fans searching for Clark’s empty frappuccino cups.

Whose Chair Would You Pay $3,700 to Snag?

A few important points, this chair likely would have sold for more if the site used Clark’s name. Clearly, the homies were trying to avoid a lawsuit so listed it as “No. 22” from the Iowa women’s basketball team. More notably, $3,700 is not as much as you may think it would have sold but it’s still $3,700 more than I would have paid for anyone’s chair.

If you’re a glass-half-full kind of person, this recent sale shows just how much Clark has made her mark on culture. Clark prompted record-setting NCAA tournament TV ratings, a high demand for tickets, and a packed arena just to watch practice.

So, Are We All Going to Tune Into the W After Clark Joins the League?

In the end, Clark and the Hawkeyes finished as runner-ups in back-to-back seasons. Even if she does not have a ring, Clark’s impact on the sport is unlike anyone we have ever seen. Clark penned.

I’m not crying, you’re crying reading Clark’s tweet aloud.

“Words cannot express my love for my teammates, coaches, fans and our university – Thanks for making my dreams come true,” Clark posted after Iowa’s loss to South Carolina. “Wearing Iowa across my chest the last four years has been an honor. This place will always be home.”

Now the question is whether Clark can bring some of these new fans to the WNBA. Something tells us not to count the star out.
