About Damn Time! 🤩

We gotta hope that they put a bit more effort into the new NCAA Football game…

Fans appear to have finally gotten the college football news they’ve been waiting for. According to Dan Waters on X, EA Games is planning to launch its newest NCAA Football video game on July 12, 2024!

We’ve been eagerly trying to find out when the release for this game was going to be ever since it was announced that the franchise would be making a return. We haven’t had a new NCAA Football game since 2013 as the NCAA refused to renew the rights for EA due to a legal dispute with players over the game using their likenesses.

However, college players are now allowed to sell their name, image, and likeness (NIL). That opened up the door for EA to bring another installment in the video game franchise. I for one played the hell out of the NCAA games when I was younger. Nothing was more fun than rushing for 500 yards in a game with Reggie Bush while the USC fight song played.

There’s definitely going to be a lot of hype for this game. For whatever reason, college football games are able to resonate with a wide audience. But before we get too excited, we have to remember that this is EA we’re talking about.

This company hasn’t tried to put out an innovative sports game in God knows how long. Madden has been a mess for years. I can’t remember the last time I really got sucked into a Madden game. I used to play all the time but the games are just so bad now.

We gotta hope that they put a bit more effort into the new NCAA Football game but we’ll just have to wait and see. At the very least, there will be a level of enjoyment in it. There’s so much hype around this game that you’d think that EA would step up their game.

That said, they also know that people are going to buy it regardless so why even try? The worst scenario is that it’s just Madden with college football teams. That’s why I probably won’t be buying on Day 1. If the reviews are great, then I’ll be all over it. Don’t screw this up, EA!
